I'm Ben_Random. I've been around since 2008 but I didn't really get active here since Super RMN Bros. 2. That, an unfinished game, and a couple of contests sums up what I've done with game making on this site. I find that my main purpose here is writing. I have a few tutorials out there, as well as some reviews on Mario fan games such as RMN Bros. or Mario V.S. the Moon Base.

Issue with Event Touch
I am using RMVX
I am stuck with a problem.
My game is sort of an action game, and enemies follow you around. When they touch you, a switch is turned on and another event starts up that makes the player lose 1 "life".
I have the monsters set to "event touch", rather than "player touch" because in player touch, the player must be facing the monster for the switch to be turned on.
The problem with this is, if one monster touches another, it get's triggered and the player "loses a life."
Could I please have some advice?

Key mapping headache
In my game the player presses hot-keys to use items.
I do this with conditional branches.
I know that "A" in a conditional branch does not actually mean "A" on the keyboard.
I know that "A" has been key-mapped to another key.
I would like to know how to change the key mapping.
Obviously, the player will have to know how to key-map as well, so I would like to be able to give them a good explanation.
If credit is wanted, I have no problem giving it.

Game Rating

I have noticed a lot of games on the site use heavy profanity, have inapropriate artwork, or are just plain inappropriate in game content. I think it would be nice if there was a little symbol under the games description of its rating, and then the reason why it is rated that way. a lot of people are complaining about this sort of problem, and I think this feature would be useful.

SMBX ad ware
I have been getting lot's of ad's lately. I discovered after a long process of elimination that SMBX was behind it. Is there a version of it somewhere that is ad ware free?
Player touch problem
In my game I want an event to be triggered when it touches the player. Although, player touch event trigger only works when the player is facing the event? Can this be changed?
VX for dummies, accepting requests
I am looking in to making some tutorials for VX, beginner stuff. But I need some requests. Is anyone new to VX? Did you just open up the program and have no idea what to do? Post tutorial requests here and I will be happy to help. :)

I know in RPGmaker 2003 there is a "Show Video" event command. Is there a script or something that will let me do that in VX? I know of the "Show Animation" event command, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for.
