Suzy and freedom
Wow. Great use of gameplay to complement the story. The don't die part was very disturbing.
Only criticism I have is that the fight scene was... unresponsive? I don't know, it didn't seem to work very well. I really liked the platform puzzles, though. Tricky, but fun.

Super purty, but the lily pad looks weird. It's not in the same color scheme or perspective as the rocks and water.
Also, I really like the cliffs. Whether it's intentional or not, your use of color (dark colors in the background, light in the foreground) and the outline of the cliffs makes a great sense of depth between them and the water. Nice job: it's a tricky thing to accomplish with a top-down perspective.

Writing branching dialogue and narrative
Ooh, nice articles. I love writing dialogue and always want to improve, so I'm glad you shared these.
It's great to know you're taking this so seriously, especially since you're making a more visual novel game instead of a traditional rpg. Also, I agree with the fake choices thing. But thou must, much?

Everyone is Happy
What makes you want to play one game over another?

When an RPG Maker game uses face graphics from another game.
Yeah, if you have to do this (which really you don't, considering the amount of free resources around the web) at least use graphics from a really, REALLY obscure game.
RPG Maker: XP vs VX vs VX Ace
There's a lot of little things I like about Ace. Regions are really neat, but being able to make your own damage formulas more than makes it worth using. At least, for typical RPGs. The only thing I miss from XP is a 3rd map layer. Also since Ace has been around for a while now, XP doesn't have an advantage in scripts anymore.
imo: Ace>>>XP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>VX
