Love the atmosphere here. There's a touch of warmth from that sky, in an otherwise frigid/colorless map.

If I had one suggestion, I think you could maybe smooth out/dither those clouds just a bit. They sorta stand out, compared with the shading on everything else in this shot.

Finally watched Last Jedi. It felt like someone's bad fan fiction, beefed up with Disney's behemoth budget and dignified with a John Williams score. I'm literally in shock they're trusting this director with another 3 movies.

So what you're lamenting over is the fact that this trilogy has no coherent overarching plot to it like, say, the LotR trilogy, and that it looks like each movie will be a largely independent concoction of pandering to nostalgia, audience (un)expectations and internet criticism, but that it still looks cool and people will pay money to see it anyway.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A few years after the entire trilogy is complete and the craze is over, people will look back with a keener eye and realize that Lucas' prequel trilogy is, in spite of it's faults, actually better than Disney's trilogy.
Yup, you pretty much nailed it on the head.

I was totally okay with them being "bold" and subverting the SW Universe. But I don't think they did it in a way that actually made the film any better. Maybe during a rewatch I'll find more to appreciate - but yeah, especially with the Luke scenes, I just didn't buy it as realistic. It wasn't just an aged and more nuanced Luke. It was a complete 180 that wasn't at all justified or explained.

I sort-of agree about the prequels too. They were a hot mess at times, but I appreciated that least had more of a singular vision for the character arcs, even if executed poorly. And similarly, the art design and music etc was way better than most of TFA or Last Jedi.

Wow, yeah. I'm blown away by the amount of effort poured into this single game area. Great work as usual.

Finally watched Last Jedi. It felt like someone's bad fan fiction, beefed up with Disney's behemoth budget and dignified with a John Williams score. I'm literally in shock they're trusting this director with another 3 movies.

My biggest issue with the film is that it felt almost self-indulgently nihilistic...but not in a a way that was entertaining, or "earned" by the writing. The character motivations, mostly, didn't make any sense. During some of the seemingly dramatic moments, I literally laughed out loud. Rian Johnson took every element people loved about the classic trilogy, (& even the prequels to some extent), and threw them completely out the window. It was like a bad joke, at the audience's expense.

The Jedi/Luke Skywalker stuff especially completely betrayed his character, considering the way he had been developed in every film before this one. I get that he became lonely and "tortured" over the years in isolation. But I still can't bring myself to believe that the character who refused to fight Vader, would decide to draw a Light Saber on his own nephew in a moment of rage and impulse. It just makes zero sense. And it's clear that Rian Johnson deeply misunderstands the philosophical underpinnings of the Jedi.

Snoke was wasted/a total red herring. (I did enjoy that twist, at least)

Rey's identity was also a strong point of focus in TFA - that was abandoned in this movie. Similarly, her extreme command of the Force was never explained.

I didn't really find myself caring about anything happening to the resistance. The storytelling seemed to imply that no matter what the rebels did, the resurgence of the Empire/First Order was inevitable. So in that sense, their actions and motivations felt empty/without real consequences. It was rehash for the sake of rehash.

When Leia said goodbye to that commander...I was like, uh, are we supposed to care? At all? Over a character who we've spent less than 3-4 minutes with?

The casino planet felt like it could have taken place on Earth...with actors inside little alien masks. Even in the worst of the prequels, there was way more artistic intention and 'identity' to the different planets to help them feel truly otherworldly. I didn't see much of that in Last Jedi.

The music didn't have many standout tracks like past films. Mostly just rehashed leitmotifs and such.

Overall, I can see why non-fans or casual audiences who don't harp on small details could enjoy the film, because it does have some truly beautiful moments. But the more positive scenes, for me, didn't add up a cohesive whole, or make any attempt to connect meaningfully to the SW universe.

Really odd problem importing battle char animations RM2K3

Or similarly, if you have Photoshop downloaded, I've never had any problems with the MODE->Index Colors method for converting to Rm2k3. If you still can't get them to work, try uploading them here and I can help.

Have you considered being more interesting?

RMN is bigger than you might think, but in ways you don't realize
RMN still gets about 7,000 to 9,000 unique visitors a day. A fly-by audience is here, but it is going to be a largely silent one. You will see this reflected in some of the other statistics, such as pageviews, downloads and "buzz score". Some games, for example, despite not getting any comments or reviews with any real frequency, constantly find themselves "buzzing" on the frontpage due to this large audience. You veteran members of RMN will have immediately thought of the viral hit game Pom Gets Wi-Fi. (That game made huge waves at RMN in the summer of 2013 after it was played by Pewdiepie on his Youtube channel.)

The point being is that there is a large transient population visiting RMN. You game may be getting attention, but it is silent. Make note of your pageviews and subscriber counts in addition to comments when assessing whether or not you are doing well in building an audience. If you are here reading this article with concerns about your game, then it is likely that this silent transient population is in fact looking for what you are making (an indie RPG, presumably). Or maybe not...
Honestly surprised by this statistic the most.

How exactly do the anonymous visitors impact the Buzz score if they aren't interacting with the game content? (Especially for games without downloads?) Do game profile views factor in too?

I'm back (with a new game, I guess)

!!!!

Yay. This actually makes me very very happy - you were one of my favorite developers. Welcome back, Luchi.

Anyone here invest in Bitcoin? XD I splurged a few weeks ago and made a nice profit so far. But I'm having my doubts about the long-term.

Update: It crashed over $4500 last night T_____T

Not just Bitcoin, but every major crypto.

Coinbase, the largest app for trading, “halted” the sale of Bitcoin Cash due to employee and insider exploitation. I’m guessing that played a role in the rampant depreciation seemingly overnight - the public no longer trusts the app as an anonymous and neutral entity, etc. Kind of a shame.

I’m wondering if this is the collapse that’s been predicted for quite some time XD Or just more of the same volatility.

Net Neutrality FCC Vote

Comcast just announced they will maintain neutrality for their customers.

If this is true, kudos to them. They might elevate themselves out of being a generally detested provider.

We're already seeing individual states and companies take a stand against this, which is pretty gratifying.

Net Neutrality FCC Vote

Couldn't believe this was a "real" PSA and not an onion parody video. The FCC must think we're all mindless sheeple more than I ever imagined to actually swallow this stuff. It's actually kind of insulting, lol.
