Challenge, hidden or outspoken?

Just wanted opinion of people, personally I HATE when I dont know if I completed everything, so a list of secrets would be good...just wanted to know if people want it otherwise.

The game was too "artistic", for me,story was weird...but really it deserves better.

Challenge, hidden or outspoken?

The question is fairly simple, In mine game Im planning to add challenge to areas, for instance main quest would be to complete a maze, but for extra challenge it could be completed under 2 minutes, its not necessary to complete it, but you can get award such as extra money or special skill. The main question is, would you people as players rather see the actual challenge or it should be hidden and upon completion it will pop up that it has been complete, you know even extra challenge. So classical challenge or hidden ones?

Single Character RPGs: How Can They Work?

Fallout series except tactics, The elder scrolls series, Gothic series, The witcher...the list could go on and yes they are traditional, if you really look for even more traditional seek Ultima series.

It has been done so many times and I personally like them more then tons of party members RPG. The main idea is journey, ussually when they make single hero RPGs, they make the character fully customizable, with almost no personality, because that character is ussually YOU in that world, they aim for freedom of choice, thats what people like most, to do what they want, to see it in action.

Of course some single hero rpgs, literally role playing games, follow the personal dilema of character set in some events, show us how they react, how they do, while having minimum or total control over it, because people like personal stories, they want to follow that story, they want to be entertained...why do people brag about things? Because when their life is lacking something, they find that thing in other peoples lifes...excitement, romance,emotions...you name it...sometimes there are more heroes, but you dont control them. And I think single hero RPGs are very entertaining.

In mine game Im trying to put a character with personality in a world where YOU control him, you will choose what he does, where he goes, how he deals with stuff, you push him in the direction you want and watch how he reacts, his inner emotional state, how he handles it, like an interactive book.I want to do classical a.k.a. fallout stat system, combat will focus mainly on one on one situations. Trying new stuff while holding to the old recipies, the golden middle way...of course reality is different from theory.

If you want a good revolutional single hero RPG, look at Gothic series.
