So, the bug is present on a new blank project as well.
Either if I test the game with the music set on the first map or if I try to play the music in the music window in the editor.

No, I don't have the official 2k3 version. I tested it on the normal unofficial 2k3 version without the Ultimate add-on and it has the same issue.
I also downloaded a random 2k3 game and had the same issue, so it's not my project only.

I'll try with a blank project and tell you in a bit.
(btw, love to see another robot fighting inspired project in your profile ;))

Hi, I've been working on a project for a long time and used mostly MP3 files for my musics, it worked well for years but today I encountered a bug, each time a MP3 plays it crashes my program, either in game mode or with the music test window. It's a generic Windows crash and I get this error message:


-The midi files are still working okay.
-I'm using Cherry's RPG Maker Ultimate / RPG Maker 2003 unofficial version
-I tested it with other projects, it also crashes so it seems to be an issue with the new PC I'M using, I'm on Windows 10.
-changing my mp3 to wav works but it's not a good solution.

If you played 1hour, this was probably not the most recent demo. From what I saw from the 2018 demo (the last to date?), I had around 6hours and I hadn't finished it.
The dev is not the most active on social media, but the game is still being worked on and about to release (maybe in 1 or 2 years).
Ow yeah probably. The demo here is the 2016 one not the 2018 you mentioned, also I know that rpgmaker2003 saves does not list the gameplay hours, so I MAY be wrong. Or MAYBE I missed something... heh there could be various reasons!

Thank you a lot for the review, it makes me happy.
I'm glad to tell you the writting has been redone as well since 2016, my english improved haha. But I plan to find an english native to proof read everything once the game is completed as well.

And yes, the project is not forgotten and will be releases( eventually!).
Out of curiousity, where did you find this old 1 hour demo? Because on the project page on rpgmaker.net I only listed the last demo, called "demo 3" which is way longer because I wanted to avoid people to download an older version. I'm confused.

So there is a good news and a bad news.
The bad news is that since november of last year I couldn't touch the project because of personal issues.
The good news is it will change soon enough and I would never abandon this project, it's clear for me.

I'm "80%" done with the project now. I don't give release date as for now because it's still vague but I'll give some more news when I restart working on it daily (at the begining of 2024).

Hello,
How can I display an item name using a variable in a message?
I think it is someting possible with DynRPG but I couldn't find the info.

I thought it was something like:
\i[0100]
(for the item number stored in variable #100)
... but it doesn't work.
