[Help] Boss Battle and Warp

What's wrong with just having a "Fadeout Screen" on the Troop's event window triggered when the hero dies, then letting them transition back to the dungeon, to get event-transferred to the inn, then have a "Fadein Screen" as the first event there?

Syma

That's odd; all the "Recover All" events are there; will need to check up why it's not working.

Will have a look at classes as well; thy've been fine in my tests so there must just be on area it's not registered properly.

I'll have a look into it, will try to fix those issuees and can update it later today with the new missions :)

Syma

I have been wondering how to balance saves in missions, actually.

I've been pondering an option to save once you reach the boss (with an option to back out of the fight) as the best balance.

If you have any thoughts on the best way to balance saving in missions, just hit me up~

Thoughts on using RTP.

@Mr Detective:
Aye, RTP is "Run Time Package" which are the default graphics that come with the software.

On-Topic:
It's hard to look at an RTP game and not be more cautious, purely because there's nothing visually different about it.

Problem is, that it doesn't necessitate a lack of effort on part of the developer.
Some of the games I make are very small and based around one quick feature or concept, so the notion of making new graphics for it all is more work than the game itself, irrespective of how interesting the concept may or may not be.

Also, the fact that a lot of people making them are alone or in small groups, or simply have no artistic ability, and all that has nothing to do with the quality of the game. I'm sure there is a correlation between bad games and RTP games, but that doesn't mean that RTP games should automatically be glanced past.

To put it in a different perspective:
Gaming as a whole requires intense levels of coding knowledge and large teams. People using RPGM because it mitigates a requirement that stops otherwise creative folks from developing.
People who make RTP games because they aren't artistic are no different than people who use RPGM because they can't code.

Battle1.png

Total coincidence actually; I just gave them all normal sounding names that you'd believe a badass mercenary has. Totally never even saw the FF7 comparison until you mentioned it.

Which is kinda sad considering the number of other completely blatant FF references I have and that one was a total fluke :(

Bug Reports

That's an RTP image. The game file isn't compressed with the RTP files, so you'll need to download them separately.
Most games here won't have the RTP included because it's a pretty massive file and is more or less required for most projects, so it's generally left up to you to downlad it once so you'll have it for all projects you wish to dodwnload.

Do you know where to get the RTP?

You don't think that's cute? I like the sprites for battlers a lot more than the actual art graphics!

Wee Hero

They'll be the weapon specific skills; each type of weapon has its own skill subset with different skills~

[vxa] looking for futuristic tilesets

I was tempted to try and make up some of my own; I can make graphics, I'm just usually far too lazy to actually finish a sheet! /shame

Have been linked to a few free-use sheets though that look fantastic!

My main problem with premium graphics is that I'm not crazy about buying something before I ever actually get to see it, and when it's a purely visual thing that's kinda a big deal to me. Don't get me wrong I totally understand why they don't release it all for viewing, but s'just why I'd rather use free-use stuff for now :)

Thanks for taking the time, though~

[vxa] looking for futuristic tilesets

As title really. I'm planning another version of a game I just finished and would like to have more than the single modern/future-y tileset I have access to.

For the sake of clarity, I'm not meaning modern houses and streetlamps, I mean spaceships and lasers kind of modern/future.

Can't seem to find this many places as I guess the sci-fi thing just isn't as popular, but if anyone knows where any good ones are for use that'd be fantastic :)
