1/ Not all the barrels in the town are interactive. Do you mean you're having trouble finding the ones that are, or am I misunderstanding you?

2/ "Among the monsters"? Do you mean drops or steal items from monsters, or do you mean literally having pick-ups in the middle of monster groups more?

Amn't sure what that is, tbh. Is just a regular blue-square compressed gamedisk file that I've uploaded both to here and mediafire a dozen times before, so didn't even think about any problems with that.

If anyone does have any problems of that nature, let me know ASAP and I'll compress a new file straight away.

I don't know how to lock this topic and file it away (I don't think I can, from my end?) but that's the file just gone through. Just decided to work finally...imagine it must have been upload speeds being too low or something; I'm uncertain.

Testing: Bugs & Changes

Fixed the guard thing. Forgot that the left side transfers you to the left on the other side as well, in the guards way (as opposed to going through the gate on the right, which allows him to walk around you)

As for the skills, that's not a bug, just my lack of clarity. Each weapon type has it's own individual skill tree. When you learn three skills, you learn one for each weapon.

I'll do what I can to clarify in game. Cheers :)

It's only 62mb. I looked around at other gamefiles and was seeing files well over double/triple that so figured it wasn't that, but didn't want to assume.

I'm not really sure what else to do about it. Is it possible that it's the file itself, and it might upload fine if I compressed a new disc?

Details

I just released a testing phase Alpha just to check for balance issues for enemy levels and material collection. I want to make sure I get everything as well balanced as I can before fleshing the area out, as I don't want to have to go back and retroactively need to carve into it to fix balance issues and such. There is details about what the Demo contains within my blog.

I'm not expecting people to devote several hours to going in and finding every last bug; just a general run through of it and see how it feels by the time you stop: did you find yourself completely incapable of advancing or was everything just plum easy? That type of thing :)
There's also a page where I'm keeping track of known bugs or errors if you happen to find any.

Forgive me if there's somewhere that covers this, but I've not used the RMN forums before and can't find a FAQ for such things; am I just being completely blind?

What my problem is that I'm trying to upload a new download and it just won't work. It gets about 10~15% of the way in (if that) and then the page just times out or tells me that the webpage no longer exists. I've tried must be a dozen times to no success now and tried uploading a rar'd file as well.
I have uploaded files before with no problems and never had this issue before, so I'm at a total loss. Is it a file size issue, or the server just being busier at whatever times? Or is it something I can't fix?

Thanks in advance for any help, or for directing me to an appropriate FAQ if there is one :)

Alpha Demo ready for Testing (hopefully!)

Made a wee page where I'll keep track of any bugs that are found. With any luck, the list will be short.

Sounds great Wyvern. The Alpha should be ready within the next couple of days (or earlier). I'm just making up the stats for the bosses now (as all other enemies are done) then run it to make sure it all plays right. After that it should be ready for a very mechanical alpha testing: that is to say there'll be few NPCs and little flavour text, weapons will be without names/icons (but have stats) and may indeed be imbalanced or buggy.

But hopefully a few folk doing tests for it will sort all that out, then I can start adding in flavour etc :)

Right now it's as simple as just finding them lying around the ground. It may seem too easy, but with fairly lengthy maps and the Fog of War it becomes more about how much you want to run around and explore (with monsters at every turn, also behind the Fog!). Then again, that's one of the things that I'm looking for in the Alpha test; to check and make sure they're not too easy/hard to find.

All monsters also have a few specific materials that can be stolen should you wish to cherry-pick a few here and there, and there are shops that sell them at exorbitant prices.
