Revive the Dead

So, here's the first enemy you'll meet in my game: Greedy Mouse!

It will (greedily!) eat its cheese the second it takes damage (presumably while squeaking something about nobody taking candle cheese), healing itself in the process, and transforming into Wasted Mouse.

Wasted Mouse has the special ability of doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the battle, and having learned a valuable lesson about greed and the power of sharing, or something.
The trick is to kill it in one hit (through buffs, debuffs or stuns) to get the cheese, a healing item.

Well, I guess since you guys jumped the gun a tad, why not the next point?

Show, if you have any, your new and old Title Screens!

Man, titles creens are pretty much the last things I create, so I don't actually have any yet.

hmm

Hmm, why haven't you signed up for the contest yet?!

Gonna post some battlers tomorrow, didn't get much done over the weekend.

Revive the Dead

Interesting battler designs leading to interesting combat.

Well, hopefully anyway! :O

Pandora's Present

Sure, go ahead. :)

Revive the Dead

Since finishing within the time limit is a priority, I decided to make a single map (17x13 tiles) for my whole game. Similar to Craze's Epic Monster Dungeon Explore! 2.
Here's an early version with mostly placeholder graphics (probably :P).

Encounters happen on red exclamation points and in "dungeons".
Might make seperate maps for the dungeons, if I'm not too slow with my entry.

Revive the Dead

Sweet, finally a halloween contest I can participate in!

Wusses.
Easy enough for you to say, Mr. Necropolis.
That got me to thinking - how many games has Mr. Jude completed?

Maybe trying to get people out of their comfort zone of not completing games would be a good idea for an event!

Penalties for leveling up

Suprised no one mentioned the positive example of Pokemon yet.
When your pokemon evolve, they get a stat boost, but they also learn new attacks at a slower rate. So the player can decide if he wants to cancel their evolution to get more powerful attacks early, or if he'd rather have a stronger pokemon overall.

Or at least I think it's a positive example, since it creates choice.

Pokémon RMN Version Professor's Lecture/Intro sequence

Looking really great, also yay for Chibiwawa being in the opening scene. :D

DEViL::ender

Oh, I didn't mean switch the parts around, just their length!

Dunno, maybe I'm just that slow, but I can definitely imagine the developer taking (a lot) less time. :P
