The Final Fantasy I Topic
I had no idea there was such a strong obsession with Final Fantasy I. You guys know more about it than I ever will.
When I was a kid, I first used Fighter/Black Belt/White Mage/Black Mage, and then when I played again a year or two later I used two Fighters instead of the Fighter/Black Belt combo.

Dubbing can be great and usually is when Disney does it for Ghibli films. Its only downside is that the film becomes less of the culture it was from and more of the culture it was dubbed into. Subtitles have less lost in translation, because you can still hear the original voices as they were meant to be heard.
So both are great, especially if done well.

What Makes Stereotypical jRPGs Terrible?
Final Fantasy VI is a good example of a game that did shopping correctly.
The reason it sucks in newer games is because it's an afterthought to things like story and graphics.
All the Dragon Quest games are good for shopping as well, but FFVI is a more mainstream example of it done right.
