Black Focused Schools

I had no idea there was a substantial amount of blacks in Toronto, and can hardly believe there's more than 1% hispanics. I'm going to wikipedia to check this out. (edit: checked out and they make up 2.2%. wow.)

I guess I assumed Toronto was very similar to Vancouver's ethnic makeup.

Also, race and culture are getting used interchangeably it seems. It's not racist to make something for those who relate to one culture more than another, regardless if that person's relation to one of the cultures is race.

Ideally, the history taught in schools would be all encompassing and focus on what everyone can find interest in and bring people together, no?

Who is your favourite author?

Herman Hesse or Robert Pirsig.

I should read Animal Farm and find what are so great about its critiques.

Rush Hour 3: Highest-Grossing Film in 2007

Rush Hour 3 would be rented by people who don't follow movies or movie reviews and remember Rush Hour 1 and 2 as being funny. The people that rent it don't necessarily like it or anything.

Assuming the link isn't bullshit and all.

RM Network? Is this the place?

Oh yeah, I really liked Pearl Jam as a teenager.

That's the stuff you really want to remember.

RM Network? Is this the place?

I like that you remember me even though I never released a game or did anything really useful.

Torrents: Do you?

My torrents depend on the network connection in the building and the torrent. It's between 1k/s and 2M/s. I download Poirot quite a bit. It's not on basic cable here.

It's -52*C with the wind chill!

Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same at -40. It was on Fresh Prince, and you should all know it because of that.

Top Ten Topic: Books (Non-Fiction)

Most non-fiction I read is in the form of editorials or basic news, except for the stuff I read in university, and I'd feel bad if I just plopped down all the required readings.

Pacifism as Pathology by Ward Churchill was good. About the use of violence in protest.

I've read lots of Marx, and it was all good aswell.

The Bible and other Holy books are good reads, regardless if they're fact or fiction. Can't say I liked the Old Testament so much though.

I have 1000 wii points burning a hole in my pocket...

Didn't like the item names. <icon>SWRD

Yeah, that sucked. The localization team was really lazy and didn't do any font programming for variable-width fonts or even skinny fixed-width fonts and just replaced the Japanese characters in the game's database with English ones. Apparently 4 characters is enough to describe something in Japanese.

It got really bad when you'd find something like a BrSd and you aren't sure if you had a Brazen Sodomite or a Bronze Sword.

Or Broad Sword.

Old-School vs. New-School

That's such a simple amazing thing though that other games assume you can't do. Dragon Quest V is the best example of breaking assumption (spoilers ahead). In an insignificant tower, you turn to stone, and it lasts about 5-10 years. You're not the legendary hero, but your kids and your wife are (or its their bloodline).

Or even the idea of following a person's entire life. Or using monsters on your team, and you assume you don't get characters, and then BAM! you do.

Awesome.
