iishenron created the misaos and then went on to even greater heights (being hyper defensive about anime and dragon quest on irc)

xenosoft recreated bleach in rpgmaker, called it winter. submitted a samurai scene straight from his game to a alex III. rip.

rpg advocate also made phylomortis avant garde and the now defunct chipset site phylomortis.com. rip!

inoran was cool. talked to him about various bands on msn. he sent me a video of his battle system functioning but few will ever regard alerha as anything but pure vapors....

i just cannot understand people bitching about rips in the year 2010, it is like, hey dude you are about a decade too late to the debate, it is over so please shut thef rck up

Custom graphics are only better than non-custom graphics if they look better. If you don't think you can do it, then don't waste your time.

yeah this is silly too, i would rather see rips than incredibly ugly mspaint graphics for the sole fact that they are usually more visually effective, but giving up the prospect of original work entirely if you cannot match 'seiken 3' is dumb.



tft's cool game rainbow nightmare is not the same technical level of 'chipsets' as some old square legends but it is still visually effective, imaginative, and conveys a world that could not be done using rips of any sort. his more recent work is better than this screen too. should he have just given up any hope of going 'custom' because he was not a trained pixel artist capable of chrono trigger chipsets???
