Really enjoyed this (I'm a total sucker for weird art games), excellent mapping, graphics and sound. The premise of the story and advancement were also interesting.
Overall this game had a great atmosphere but my one criticism would be that I felt the text of the story line was repeated a bit too much and broke up the flow of the game too much.

Well I just found this in the depths of my "to play" folder after downloading it at some point. Had to look you up to say this game is adorable. There's a very sad undertone to the whole game, but it's also really sweet. I enjoyed it.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Yay! I'm glad you like it.
That'd be the nano thread! It's the "hair" and can be molded into various shapes ie: a hammer, fists or to hold objects like a sabre or whips.

While Dante certainly isn't the most important figure in The Divine Comedy, and he sort of serves as a vehicle for the audience to put themselves in their shoes I would say that because he is a self insert there is definitively some power fantasies going on, like Slashphoenix said with who went into hell or not. I also say that the inclusion of of Beatrice and Virgil as the guides ,(essentially the girl you had loved for many years and the equivalent of a (dead) rockstar in the writing world then esp. for a poet like Dante) is a form of wish fulfillment. Uh thats sort of the point I was trying to make with Beatrice.
I think that if you work with a self insert character you're always going to have some amount of wish/power stuff going on even if it isn't blatant "and then I saved everyone!" And that's not necessarily bad, I think its why so many people enjoy superheroes. I don't think that having a self insert or author avatar directly equals bad writing, just, like you've said, waaaay more challenges for the author.
