Why are these forums relatively inactive?

Also fun fact: there are still servers that host sites using the Gopher protocol, which is a little older than HTTP, though those are mostly just digital museums kept online for curious wanderers.

Why are these forums relatively inactive?

I realize this is a very late reply, but while forums have definitely not been as popular as they once were, there's a big difference between forums and things like floppy drives and CDs (and the other stuff). For example, floppy drives are no longer used with modern computers not just because of their obsolescence but because no motherboard made in the last two decades is even able to have a floppy drive or a CD drive from that era connect to it. Meanwhile, forums are still very usable just like Reddit, Discord, social media, etc because they all are still usable, even if forums don't have as many features.

Heck, the IRC chat protocol is older than HTTP itself, and it's still very much in use. There are still multiple active IRC servers and multiple channels on those servers, and while they're obviously not nearly as active as they used to be compared to stuff like Discord and social media (is Reddit considered to be social media?), I'm confident that they'll be around for quite a while.

I've also noticed there seems to be an increasing amount of backlash towards social media, especially towards Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit, and not just from boomers.

tl;dr: like IRC, forums aren't going anywhere soon.

Never mind sorry, I'm a big dummy and didn't see the clarification. That's what I get for replying late.

Discord, Reddit, and social media in general can all go die in a fire. Those platforms are actively pro-censorship, too. With all the things going on in the world lately, forums, e-mail, and IRC are still the best forms of online communication, and that's not likely to change for the foreseeable future.
There's also imageboards, though watch your step if you decide to enter that.

Goodwill Finds

I found all six volumes of the Scott Pilgrim comic series at a Goodwill.

There was also another time where I found a couple blazers. They were plaid, covered in sequins, and were the ugliest jackets I've ever seen in my life, and if they weren't way too big for me, I would have bought them in a heartbeat and looked for every excuse to wear them. It was the kind of thing that's so ugly and garish that it wraps around to being beautiful.
In retrospect though, I probably could have just gotten them adjusted.

Pixel Club

It's been a while since I did any drawing stuff, but I've been meaning to, so count me in.

I re-watched Labyrinth and NeverEnding Story yesterday for the first time in a long time, and I almost forgot how corny they are. I still enjoyed them despite that. They were two of my favorite movies when I was really young, so it might be nostalgic bias, but I don't really care.

Flash is dead. Let's talk about Shockwave/Macromedia Flash games!

An instant classic. A masterpiece of unrivaled creativity in writing, voice acting, and art. 10/10, I laughed, I cried, I negotiated.

Recently Watched Movies

Against my better judgement I decided to go see Resurrections, and in retrospect, I really shouldn't have bothered. I didn't exactly have high expectations and hopes for it going in, but I still feel somehow disappointed.
I might just rewatch the original trilogy just to cleanse my palette.

Well that's depressing, though I guess I can't really blame her. And while it was certainly flawed, I've never really felt that Revolutions was necessarily bad. Same for Reloaded. I may just wait for a bit and if the consensus is apparently that it's shit, I can pretend that it doesn't exist.

I felt like Young Frankenstein wasn't supposed to be quite as funny as Brooks's other films like Spaceballs or Blazing Saddles, since it had a bit of sincere drama in it as well. So it had silly gags like Frau Blucher *whinnying sounds in the background* in one scene and Dr Frederick Frankenstein coming to grips with his grandfather's reputation as an ongoing conflict, but the dramatic scenes and the silly gags never really feel out of place.

I just realized that Matrix: Resurrections was already released, but I'm still not sure if I want to watch it. Partially because I felt like Revolutions was a satisfying conclusion to the story, and partially because Morpheus was my favorite character and Laurence Fishburne kicked ass, having a Matrix movie with Morpheus but no Fishburne just feels incomplete.

JOKER WILD MAFIA (GAME OVER)

I'm honestly surprised I lasted this long. I was expecting to die a while ago.
