GRANDIA 3 -- What's with the hate?
I was never more miffed as a young gamer than when Grandia 3 didn't get a UK release. The original Grandia was my favourite RPG and its sequel almost perfected the battle system, so not getting this OR Extreme was a total let down for me.
[RMVX ACE] [RM2K] Smaller scale chipsets in VXACE?
So it's rescale or redraw - hmmmmm maybe I'd be better off creating more up to date versions of elements as I use them anyway - I don't feel up scaling would give the quality of finish in after
[RMVX ACE] [RM2K] Smaller scale chipsets in VXACE?
I've just received a copy of VX Ace and was hoping to create a game using the same size tiles as in 2000 as I have amassed large library of original graphics in that ratio for other non-rpgmaker projects (making use of the full colour ratio). I see that VX Ace uses boxes roughly four times the size (squared) of 2000 and wonder if there is a way to still use these old resources within the maker?
What's Your Favorite Anime? Is it Okay to Ask This???
What's Your Favorite Anime? Is it Okay to Ask This???
For years I'd have said 'The Heroic Legend of Arslan' from its OVA release days - my first heavy fantasy and a big impression on a child-like mind. But these days I'd probably have to say 'Sword Art Online' possesses some of the best writing I've seen. It's flip from casual to very dark and emotional into heroic love story in season one's first ten episodes was some amazing writing.
The Shannara Chronicles
Now that the show is over I was wondering what people thought of the Shannara Chronicles over all?
For myself (and I grew up reading these novels) I liked how they alluded to the story in the 'Sword of Shannara' without having to show it, though I felt that they made a lot more of the 'ruined world' theme than the books did - going so far as to introduce elements of it to almost every episode. I always felt that was background colour rather than a selling point - though the man himself did go back to link Shannara to his Knight of the Word novels. I did feel that cutting much of the Human element was a shame, I remember loving the siege of the Elven city and the border patrol helping to defend it.
They're obviously setting up for future seasons to use the same cast rather than jump into Wishsong, the next novel in the series, so we can expect a lot of all-original content from here. I do hope that we eventually get to Heritage however, because that saga MADE my childhood!

Pre-demo play testers?
Rest assured, I write 'Chronology' for 'My Boxed Universe' and am well versed in historical RPGs.

This is a more mouse-driven affair in an effort to take some table-top game influence however. If you PM me your email I will email you some screens and a build.

Pre-demo play testers?
I've been tinkering with a casual game project titled 'ward' designed to replicate the experience of a pen and paper RPG and throw-back to early video games RPGs. As a team of 1 I'm working on it between projects at work (built in Multimedia Fusion 2) and don't feel ready to release an official demo as yet, but am looking for a small team of beta-testers to provide feedback.
If you're interested in play-testing an early build of an original turn based system and dungeon crawl with elements of text adventure designed to play like a pen and paper RPG (its a niche!) then contact me on RPGMaker.net by dropping me a message and I can provide screens, more information and a rough build to play via email.
This game uses no unoriginal assets of any kind, every aspect has been built specifically for this game.

Steel Knights Review
A nice and honest review, overall it seems like you had a good time playing it through on multiple runs.
