Erave Big Band Music

Hey guys. I have some big band compositions for you all. I don't know if this is the place where this kind of genre will be appreciated, but who knows.

The first piece is a funky little number I wrote called "It's your time to Shane"
http://download.yousendit.com/DD8140401763CA7F <--This was siteread by the Three O Clock Lab Band at University of North Texas, so there's some minor reading errors.

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=0DC2A12B5736D7F0 <--this was a live performance of my tune by another band. That's me on Lead trumpet :).

I have some more including another funky chart called "Okay Processing", a kinda sneak hiphop/swinger "Questionable Quantum" and my infamous arrangement of the TV Theme song to Pokemon. Find all this on: www.myspace.com/tylermiremusic

Gimme Boss Gimmicks

This is similar to this topic: http://www.rpgmaker.net/forums/index.php?topic=1141.0

Basically I was thinking to myself. What makes a good boss battle? What boss battles stand out in my mind as memorable. So I'm asking you, fair citizens of Rm.net to list your favorite boss battles, cool gimmicks for bosses to do, or just things that you'd like to see more bosses have.

I'll start.

I always remember the "Countdown" bosses. Namely Behemoth and Demon Wall from FF4. Such intense battles. Also, I love Boss Battles where the boss knocks you to 1 hp at the very beginning of the battle.

Gimme Dungeon Gimmicks

I've found this forum to be active and helpful. Alright, dudes. Give me your best ideas for gimmicks in my game's two dungeons:

-Wind Cavern
-Water Cavern

This can range anything from how you reach the dungeon, what kind of puzzles, what kind of enemies, traps, dangers, bosses, colors, etc...

Give it to me!

Last Legend - Need Beta Testers

Hey guys I started work again on Fighter and I's project Last Legend (http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/48/). And I need some beta testers. Anyone interested? The new "updated" version should be out within the week. Maybe sooner, who knows.

I just need someone who will actually get through the whole game. It's around 5 hours. That's a conservative guess, I really have no idea.

Testers:

36 Days Left - The Countdown to Brawl

I know there was a previous topic on this, but I decided to start a new one. For those that have been hiding under a rock; Super Smash Bros Brawl (smashbros.com) is going to be released in North America on February 10th. This topic is here for all speculation, exclamations, anticipations, opinions, concerns, etc... about the game. Let it rip!

Honest Question

Simple question. Simple answer. If you could elabortate that'd be great.

Does Tetris belong on the Top 10 Greatest Video Games of all time? Go!

(My answer? No. I'll elaborate in a future post.)

I'll compose you music

I was thinking about how I really don't write/sequence many tunes these days. Since I am a music major I need to be practicing and what better way than to offer my skills to one of you guys.

I am offering my services as a MIDI composer for your amateur projects. I lack the high-tech skills to manipulate MIDIS to high "sound quality" but I do have basic balancing and instrumentation skills. I have been studying music for the last five years so I think I know a decent amount. I also have lots of experience doing midis until lately where I sorta dropped out. I'd liked to do some more. That's where you come in.

I'm looking for people who need some music. The project doesn't matter. And the amount doesn't matter. The only thing I ask for in return is feedback for Fighter and I's latest project, Last Legend (http://rpgmaker.net/games/48/). A playthrough and review would be accetable . Originally, I figured I'd do this for free, but I thought that it would be a fair trade off and it would help get some good feedback for the future work on the project. But if you really don't want to and I like you enough, I can still write some music for ya.

I believe my biggest asset is versatility. Unlike many of the so called "amazing amateur" composers I can compose more than string movie score 101. I am trained and skilled in multiple styles from jazz, pop, funk, rock, and "classical."

My only speculation is to be flexible in the sense that I can't read minds. Examples of what your music would sound like helps a lot. For instance you say... I want my song to sound similar to Frog's Theme in Chrono Trigger. That actually makes my job a lot easier. Dialogue is essential to capturing what you want and I'll do my very best to make it happen.

These are songs for my projects, please don't use them. Thanks.

Smash Brothers

Since I got my wisdom teeth pulled I haven't been able to play my horn any. Also, because I am super scared of doing permanent damage and making it take longer to recover I've been taking it easy on physical activities. The other day I actually opted not to play softball with my friends. Which killed me. But it ended up pouring so I didn't feel too bad. Anyway, as my free time grows since my job has basically died down as well , I've taken a keen interest in getting better at Smash Brothers. This made me think. There's gotta be some smashers on board here. Now I've been to Smashboards, and the wealth of information is incredible. The posters and general look of the place makes me think a bunch of 14 year olds are meeting and sometimes I want to stab myself. Regardless, here's a few questions to get the topic going.

-Do you play Smash Bros?
If so, would you consider yourself a leisure player (parties, friends) or more competitive.

-Character of choice? Why?

-Have you ever fought in a tournament of any sorts?

Personally, I have always played for leisure. It's a great social game and I always enjoyed playing it in big groups with my friends. Though certain friends and I had competitive rivalries they were always in good fun and we didn't take it too seriously. None of us were any good either, since we never practiced.

My character of choice would be Samus. First off I never played a single metroid game, and I'm not even sure what made me lead to picking her. But I liked her missiles because I could blow people off the stage when they were returning. Recently I've been watching several movies of people who use her and I'm getting a grasp on good techniques. Also of note, I HATE Marth. The biggest jap fag ever. Any time someone uses that faggot I always mock them by shouting highly stereotypical "jap sword man grunts" such as "Toraa!" "Hyaa!" "I unsheash the excalibur.... of the dark knights" Shit like that. Makes them feel pretty gay. I am totally a mind game player, and I like to be cocky to give myself some sort of mental advantage (I don't think it ever works though).

I have never played in tournaments. But once I'd like to go watch one. Maybe participate. If this trumpet thing doesn't work out, I'm dedicating my life to Smash.

Over and out.
