Need help finding a adequate engine...

This is possible in all the RPG Makers, Game Maker is a completely different platform compared to RPG Maker, so it is differently customed. I personally recommend RPG Maker 2003, it's not hard to get used to, it has a free and better tile set system compared to VX and it's rather easy to convert to a 2d format. Not to mention you don't need an excessive amount of programming needed compared to XP / VX.

Noel Kreiss (ノエル・クライス, Noeru Kuraisu?) - The main male protagonist of the game. Noel comes from the Dying World at 700 AF, where he is the last surviving human in a world that faced destruction. After a chance encounter with Lightning, he travels into the past to find her sister, Serah. He sets off with her to save Lightning in the hopes of changing the future. He uses two swords that are able to combine to form a spear in battle.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Final Fantasy 12, actually.

I never got into it in the past. But now that I've played it for more than 3 hours, I'm finding it to be quite fun! The license system is still ugh, though.

Yeah, FF12 does seem to be one of those games you need to adjust to first, when I first started playing (which was a few years back) I never really got into it, and ended up giving away from it for a few months. But coming back to it a year or so ago I can't seem to stop playing.

The license system is amazing in my opinion, as you can't waltz through the game and equip the strongest thing or learn the strongest spell without the proper license. It stops the game from being broken. (though in many ways it still is >.>)

Bleh, decided to adjust the title screen for my game as well as the opening visuals. Hurray for just-notice-side-tracking errors!

Those aspects in gaming you've always wondered about?

Why games have towns where Inns and Save crystals which do the same thing. I mean, you're obviously going to choose the crystal. Savepointsandhealzyesplz.

Dealing with displaying multiple statuses [2k3]

Mmmm....I suppose, though that'd be an awful lot of pictures I'd have to use methinks just for that. @_@

What I mean is, the actual monster picture itself has the name and level above its head.

ZOMG Cherry, I love you so much man lol. That would be so awesome to have.

Also Fallen-Griever, that's actually a very neat way of showing enemy names...though I wonder if that'd be the way of doing so. Do you suggest it at all?

There is a simple way you can display enemy names. I just added pictures above the enemies head, so I could change the RPG Maker battle system

Edit: Cherry, it sounds like you're making RPG Maker 2003 come back with a bang beyond revolution. If you do this, RPG Maker 2003 will probably be one of the top engines again. It has aged with VP / XP and the new Ace, but I believe with this, it just might bring it over the top and allow RPG Maker 2003 to do things it never was able to do before without a massive amount of programming.
