JosephSeraph's Concept Art topic...?

I'm not going to comment on technique as it has already been done and these are also as I understand, supposed to be concept art, so I don't feel it is completely necessary. I would like to say however, that I would think it would be more appopriate if you posted some fullbody shots, so the designs can be assessed easier. As is I see three girls faces and a little of their torsos so I can't really judge.

Romancing SaGa (and the SaGa series!)

post=92022
EDIT: Oh! Also! The great thing in this game is that the LP's almost NEVER drop if you still have HP, whereas in Unlimited Saga, it seemed like the game didn't give a crap how much HP you had... your lifepoints were GOING DOWN, BRAH!

Try fighting Death if you get that far. He has a bunch of attacks that take a toll on your LP. I've yet to take him down, myself.

Romancing Saga is one of my very favorite PS2 games. I don't even play video games much anymore but I can always come back to Romancing Saga. So far I have completed the game three times - Gray, Aisha and Hawke. Working with Albert and getting close to the end (My ER has to be about 18 or 19).

How often do you run from battles?

If the encounter rate is good, almost never unless I actually need to. But if I have to fight after about every two or three steps I begin getting pissed off and run from battles.

RMN Pixel Art Contest #2

So July 11th is the deadline? If I can whip something up before then I'll gladly enter.

Does anyone in Phoenix even know what hockey is?

Wow. With all the comparisons the Penguins have gotten since the year they first made it back into the playoffs to the old Oilers, it's abit eerie they have a chance to win their first Stanley Cup with a rematch against the team they lost to last year as the Oilers did the first time they won.

I feel the same way about the Penguins! I know, as a Canadian, that I'm supposed to LOVE Sidney Crosby (otherwise I'm unpatriotic), but I really have a hard time doing so. The guy is just so wooden. He's like the Al Gore of hockey - he's really good at what he does, but about as charasmatic as a piece of furniture. Ovechkin is just so much more fun to watch. Still, Crosby is an awesome player.

Being from Regina, I don't really have a home team to root for, so I find myself just rooting for good hockey, with a soft spot for the underdog in any given contest. I'd have a tough time naming a favorite team right now. Except Detroit. I hate Detroit. I hate them even more than the Maple Leafs and Canadiens, if you can imagine.

Edmonton Oilers tagline: Hey, remember the '80s? We had a real good team in the '80s!

That's exactly why I don't really like the Penguins too. They're a great team, they can make beautiful plays and.. they're just not that interesting. Screw Don Cherry (actually I like him) telling kids they shouldn't celebrate like Ovechkin does because that's not the Canadian way. On ice Crosby projects the image that hockey is his job, Ovechkin seems to treat it more like a game he loves. Still, I definitely respect Crosby's talent and work ethic and if I was a GM I'd totally want him on my team.

I used to feel the same way about the Redwings too, haha. My feelings towards them changed post lockout because I find how they're consistently so good with the salary cap in place very respectable. That said, I'm cheering for the Blackhawks. They're a great young team and it's great to see a franchise that has struggled for so long back in good shape.

If you had to make the next Sonic game...

Also, I thought Sonic Heroes was fun and thoroughly believe the only reason people didn't like it was because it wasn't focused solely on Sonic. If that was a game with nothing to do with the Sonic series then people would've probably loved it.

No, if Sonic Heroes had nothing to do with the sonic series people simply would have never even played it.

I agree with everyone who says go back to the basics and/or remake Sonic 2 (actually I liked Sonic 3 more myself, but I played that one more...)

I haven't played Megaman 9 but I hear alot of people say its great. How'd Capcom fix it's Megaman problem? By going back to the basics. Sega should do the same.

Does anyone in Phoenix even know what hockey is?

Bettman just doesn't like Ballsilie (s/p?). I can from a degree understand his excuse behind trying to deny the move, saying that he is protecting the markets. I live in Edmonton and with what the Oilers had going on with ownership issues.. I'm glad the team stayed here. But there's a big difference between Edmonton and Phoenix as a hockey market. Even the last few years, with the Oilers being garbage after making it to the Stanley Cup finals, everyone calls them a bunch of bums here but we still care. Do people in Phoenix really care?

An unsuccessful Canadian team will still have better support from its fanbase than an unsuccessful American team. There's enough teams as is right now so expansion shouldn't be the answer for bringing in another Canadian team.

I hope the Hurricanes can knock out the Penguins too, lol. I'm mad at them for knocking off the Capitals!

RPG Intros

.....

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. Why the hell was I thinking it was Quest... lol

Video games are supposed to be interactive. The sooner you allow a person to interact with the game the better. If you want to make people sit there and watch your game for a long period of time, why even make a game? Why not try another medium that is better suited to that.

RPG Intros

If you want to introduce a characters personality or the setting a little in an intro, thats fine but overall an intro should be as quick as you can give the player an idea of what they are supposed to be doing. Heroes Quest does this pretty perfectly.

Short and sweet is best, like this post~ ;D
