Bonds of Friendship?
Same here- anyone's free to message me as they please. And I'm bored much of the time anyway. Of course I have MSN and YIM too if that's more of your style or whatever.

I finished the sprite animation I started yesterday. See below. More music. With my remaining five minutes of the hour, I did 5/8 elemental equipment effects. One per minute? I was pleased with my rate. However, I haven't tested any of them yet.... I'm like 80% sure though that when I do test them, it will be fine.

Bonds of Friendship?
Pretty much the only time I ever talk is online- even to my IRL friends, because neither of them go to my school. However, with only one exception, there's no one I've met online that I would by any standard consider a friend.
Said exception I met in the RM community, but he was never a prominent part of it, nor do I believe he's in it at all now. He plans to come and meet me in December, but I don't really believe it'll happen. If it does, well, okay then.

Crafting good story/characters

Flush them out, or flesh them out? Or are you implying that all characters are shit?
Haaah, yes, the latter. Pardon my typo.
Crafting good story/characters
I was actually planning on writing a tutorial/guide type thing on how to plan your characters, flush them out and design the events of the game based off of them, like, next week or so (just waiting until I get my method ironed out). In light of this topic, I'll move that up on my priorities list.
Top Ten Topic: Favorite Animals (Week 51)
1. Wolfies- Wolves are awesome, there is no denying it. Deny it, and they will eat you. Thank you. Good day.
2.Wolfies. Coyotes- They're a lot like wolves, just not. Their howls sound pretty similar though.
3.Wolfies. Foxes- Mostly for the cute factor. I'd like them more if they didn't threaten to eat my cat.
4.Wol- You get the idea. Siberian White Tigers- Tigers are cool, but they just can't compete with a White Tiger. Seriously, that's pimp. Yes, I know, I'm racist. =(
5. Lunar Moths- I hate insects. I really do. A lot. However, Lunar Moths, are pretty, especially when there are several thousand of them flying around in a snowstorm at dusk fifteen thousand miles above sea level on the summer solstice as the setting sun shines through the peaks and ruined buildings, through the fog and entrapping clouds and reflects off their wings all over the goddamn place. That was totally awesome.
6. Panda Bears- Not only are they goddamn cute, they can kill you in three seconds.
...Fuck it.
7-9. Wolfies- I don't care that I already listed it. In this order: Arctic, Grey, Tundra, Black, Red, Desert, Steppe, Asian, Hokkaido, Indian and then some more. They are fast, they are strong, they are beautiful, and they will kill you. Also, their howls are beautiful. Especially if you get a whole pack going.
10. My cat, Kira- Who is too cute to be legal, and is biting my other hand as I pet her while typing this. Also, she is prettier than your cat.

I took a break from my normal coding today to do some spriting. Having never done animation before, I'm very pleased with the results so far. I would post it, but I'm only about a third done, so I'll have to refrain. It's also a lot easier than I expected (so far *knocks on wood*)

I'm writing this at the beginning of the hour- I am sick, I am tired, I'm in a bad mood, and I do not want to work on this tonight.
I'm writing this at the end of the hour- for some reason, I worked on this tonight, and I do not regret it (still sick/tired/badmood, though). I hereby declare this topic a good idea.
Anyway, I started out fixing some insects, one of which in particular took like twenty minutes and then turned out to be really simple and I felt really stupid. After that, I made it so battles actually like close and stuff after they end, which was much more difficult than you would think, and then started adding in the elemental equipment effects. I set up the array and everything so all that's left to do is make them actually do stuff, everything else is in place. In other news, I've reached the 100 common event mile marker.... Though, I went straight to 108. Anyway. Yeah. Rambling. Blaaaaaaah, I'm going to sleep.

Well, I decided since last time to work on the battle frame, which, again, took up the whole hour. The rest of the day I did what I needed to do to do the battle frame, which was actually quite a bit. So I got everything coded up from the mock up I had made long ago, and it was looking dandy until the enemy health display decided to fail and try to use the player's health display as its own. Thought I knew how to fix that. I was apparently wrong. I'll look into it more later. By the way, more music, no surprise there.
