...And not even track. Screw the training and the 50m dash. I just like racing people as they'll accept my challenges.
...So far only two who have beat me and who I haven't beaten back. I WILL have my revenge though..

Hard Parts of Game Making?
Motivation- I have more free time than I know what do with, seeing as how I close to never sleep, and rarely do my homework.
....And don't anybody suggest I do those things- it ain't gonna happen. :p
Second though, I would say dialog is my weakest thing. All my characters sound the same.
And if I were forced to compose, that. My mom's a music teacher, but I can't compose my way out of a paper bag.

Possibly the Hardest Game Ever
author=Spazzgamer27 link=topic=501.msg7663#msg7663 date=1200602401
Hardest Game? Either Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE those games. I mean super-duper-love'em. But they're still damn hard. I even threw my GBA SP across the room when Kyle died at the end of Ch. 8 bacause of a stupid mistake, and no one else had died that chapter....
I have to disagree. I found both of those rather easy, and I have beaten both multiple times without a single character dying. o.o
Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi, though... Ouch. Finally got through it though.
Not that this topic was asking what you thought the hardest game was, though....
Old-School vs. New-School
author=WIP link=topic=573.msg7685#msg7685 date=1200612656That's not what I mean. I'm saying it's not just one or the other, so I don't see the point of making it that way -either you have great game play and story, or great music and graphics.
You'd be surprised by how thought out "old school" games are. You don't need fancy dancy graphics to give a great gameplay experience or story. Graphics and sound are there to heighten the game, not make it.
So why have bad graphics when you can have good ones? And still have good gameplay either way?
Dude. That's just tragic. Do you have any idea how good Earthbound is? Or Terranigma?Yeah, I've played a little bit in to Earthbound. Though I'll get shot for saying it, I can't stand the battles. Way too slow. Same with Chrono Trigger. Never heard of Terranigma, except for the category of chipsets ripped from it on phylomortis or whatever. >.<
Old-School vs. New-School
Though I can understand a nostalgia factor, 'old-school' doesn't really seem practical. It would be more nostalgic to actually play the old school games, so trying to emulate that style seems like an excuse to laziness, counter-progressiveness... Well, I know that's not true, but still. Why regress on quality?
I have very little appreciation for the old school games personally. However, that could be because I've never even touched a SNES in my life, and don't have the attention span for games such as Earthbound.

Music problems
I have similar problems- except only with some MIDIs. It's really cost me a lot of good songs.
I too have Vista, but I can't think of anything in the OS (unless it's a bad kernel..?) that would cause this- it's more likely the type of audio cards that come with the computers that also come with Vista.
However, that's just my guess/assumption.

Second Reality: Reflections
There are sound effects. Like I said though, my screen recorder just didn't record sound. Which is why I had to go back and put it music manually. I couldn't do the same with sound.

Updates and such:
Battle Demo Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc_5OY4GRKY
That's the first battle in chapter three. Too bad it didn't record the sound. V_V
The official website of the game is fully functional- A little empty, but functional none the less: http://www.woadev.com/sr/
A couple more screens from the intro to chapter three:

And the styles system is now coded- depending on what element styles you set (unlockable both through side-quests and the main story) you can recieve different field and battle bonuses. There are 12 possible styles.
....And yeah, I'm going to be changing the message boxes soon, with any luck.
