Some questions:
Why don't I earn EXP?
I nearly died during the surprise attack, even with using my collected potions and ethers before the last two battles.
At least let me grind for more money, but there are no random encounters at the docks.

Are only some of the cutscenes different for the chosen party leader or more?
Currently playing as Ni Ethil and collecting bugs and typos while writing a guide.

I had to run this game in windows 8 compatibility mode to get this to do anything other than just a black screen with music playing when I booted the game, just a heads up for anyone else.

Strange, I had no problems then with Windows 10.
The only advice I can give you is installing the correct RTP for this game's engine.

Hi, how do I help the sick woman in the house? The husband mentions something about the house behind the item shop but I couldn't open it.

This quest is only doable in act 2.
Here what you have to do:

Arwald – Curse of the Vampire Queen
Items: Bone Shield (in town), High Potion x2, Stimulant, 25 Gold, Mana Water, Healing Herb
Enter the house north of the item shop (remember that request) to gather Healing Herb and talk to the alchemist. The Vampire Queen seems to live in the well just outside his house. Buy at least 6x Garlic and protect against ice (and wear fire weapons)!
Use you Garlic on the Vampires.
Boss Vampire Queen: Use Garlic each time the formation changes and Fire. Drops the Blood Spear.
Report to the alchemist. Reward: 250 Gold
Note Sidequests: Even if you can do them now, it is recommended to do one of the Hell Gate spots first to gain a healer.

You know that it is really frustrating, that the Bandits can steal all your money and you don't get it back even when you defeat them in the same turn.

Following all the clues about the hidden treasure I couldn't find a tree stump in the forest (but I found a money-glich you really need to exploy or you won't survive the prison).
