Unfolded Stories
Yeah I don't get why you took down the images either. It looks like you were being prideful. You could just have taken the advice well and posted more interesting images and not take them in the rmvx editor.
The fact that this game is not currently denied confuses me. I had this game where I stopped working on it so I wanted to delete it through manage games. I simply tried to delete it and the button did not actually do that. Then I decided if I could not delete it, I would overwrite it with an active project. I deleted all the images I had, next thing I know my previously accepted game became denied (due to no images anymore I guess). Now I have this denied game I can not entirely delete or resend through the submission que in the form of a new game that replaces it. With no images, this game no longer falls within the rules and is still accepted.

OUR HOUSE! I want to see this house I allegedly share with Zakku.
I do think those leaves should be taken out of the water.

Just a cheap 2 minute mockup showing a simple replacement of the old blocky tiles (before I put in work and alter the real sets). It's easy to tell that I mapped with squares in mind, but that can be changed a bit with some effort. Not sure that it's better if the only thing I did was swap saving me the work of remapping parts.
The Welp Advice Corner
I do not know if I should feel dumb for asking this question. Either it's the simplest thing in the world to understand or something that really can use some explanation. Why are there features that apply add and neg to images in RMXP/VX. I have always gone with "It is what it is, a couple optional special effects". Aside from seeing an image darkened or lightened, what are we supposed to have in mind when we use this? It seems to make for some cool fogs, but I never really like what happens when you put them on game objects. I am just wondering if I am basically using it for the intended purpose or if these features are supposed to be about something more.

I like the work you put into everything I see. You go a little bit light crazy, but it comes off a lot better than the way several other games use lights.
I am glad you are taking out the shadow script because I know from experience it always comes out looking queer. Especially the motion of the shadows swinging in an arc loop. The only way I have seen it used to good effect is when characters are stationary and a single shadow is all there is.

I was just playing the Angry Birds theme song and at the same time looked at your avatar.

Fun to watch.

So you're pulling a FFXIII and making everything before knowing how and where to use it? Sounds like a waste.
No no no, that would be foolish. As far as story goes this game is already written. What I meant is I go to another area of design that I have a better idea of how to plan for and start making it. I really try to do this at last resort because I have a bad time when I aim to catch up with work that's too far ahead of where I am at.
Edifice - A Slightly Less Decrepit Version Review

I grouped atmosphere with plot in order to avoid having a 0/5 score on games that don't rely on plot. I think games with little to no plot rely on atmosphere to create the same basic drive in the player - that feeling that keeps you wanting to play more to see what's next.
Good call on that.
I am yet another who thinks you rated low for Aesthetics and Atmosphere. If I put all my eggs into mapping sounds about right. But there's nice touches in other places.
Tim Rogers - A planet without Square Enix
FF9 was a classic. To me it was tops in the series for art and music. I did not feel gameplay or the story was bad, but some other FF games may have been stronger in that dept. When I first saw the cast, I thought it looked like a bizarre combination of wierdness. I found most everyone likable still. I would love for Square Enix to step back from futuristic dystopian worlds and make something else along the lines of this again. I hate how it always seems to get written off.
