Tales of the Drunken Paladin: Version 3 Review
Wow, what a boring place this would be it it was "the end" and everyone just shut up upon anyone saying anything.

unless of course this review is about "Did I like this game or not?". Pulls out my doctorate of liking stuff.
Qualified.

We all know it's your opinion. These posts are all opinions, this review and all the others are opinions. We don't need the disclaimer.
Do you also feel movie reviews are not credible unless the reviewer has made either an independent or mainstream movie themselves? I asked wondering if this opinion stems from some emotional involvement to the community and what we do.

I get what you are saying, but aside from the niche humor thing the score seems to exaggerate said incompetence mentioned in your analogy. Drunken Paladin has the skill to stand with the other good game makers, he just didn't make something you enjoyed. I respect that this review is your own.

Well my edit was to be more fair to how I evaluated your review. I switched me tone to your SCORE reflects that of a game where the creator did not even try. I mean if the game is developed to an extent you can tell the creator put loads of effort into it, I think 2 stars or less is an unworthy score for any such game (unless somehow in the end it reeks of utter incompetence). Likely though, incompetent games aren't the ones you will think a lot of effort went into.

I kinda miss some of the old school types of misao categories. This game would be a contender for most controversial, due to the love/hate relationship it gets in the community.
With less categories that are for fun, I think it may have lessened voter participation a bit.

I disagreed with this review score fully until the note you decided to end it on. For a 2 star review, you would think few games have done anything worse. I am not sure if a lot of reviewers realize that a 2 star review is seen as among the worst games you can find on this site. Being that I can not justify that as being anywhere near true, I saw this as an attempt to be a corrective review, or a response to the fanbase. Solitayre I think did a better job justifying his score by hitting on some more meaningful game issues.
Then came the one argument I feel anyone can make to say this is a below average game and be fair. You did not enjoy the humor in any way shape or form. Good comedy is different for everyone and one form of art where tastes are so vastly different. I see it as the lone thing that stopped the review from seeming like you wrote your review angry that this game was popular (but I still am not sure due to you mentioning the fanbase). Even then it did not seem like you were fair and your score reflects that of a game where the creator did not even try.
"but in terms of the fanbase this game seems to have generated that is filled with zealots that will have none of the criticism that this game actually deserves." Well, I don't consider myself in this group, because I deconstructed the game a lot in my own review. If beneath it all you really enjoy a game, you can find a ton of flaws and rate it highly. I don't agree with the sentiment that most people who love this game lack the ability to see anything flawed in it.

What do you want to see in Final Fantasy XV?
I don't know, I don't think I will ever again see a FF I like as a complete package and not just one or two things done well. I guess after FFX, my die hard fandom ended. If theres another game, I probably would prefer to see the game as how the series used to be, and not reinvent themselves relative to other changes in the gaming industry. Then again, as it would please a lot of old fans, it's maybe not the smartest move for them.
