A Translation Far Away
I went to Babelfish for you. The parts that aren't well understood are in asterix, followed by my best guess as to its meaning. Other statements are verbatim or near verbatim from Babelfish and what I picked up from a Portuguese-English dictionary.
The game has a very exciting plot.
*-therefore it deals with an uncommon history, without involving magical beings or thing of the type.-*
assume he's trying to say its refreshing this game isn't the typical fantasy RPG. Possibly a mention of how in this story you aren't facing some all-powerful magical adversary to drive the plot.
Beyond the script, the systems are very well made
the maps are almost perfect.
*- the sprites are to full the eyes and without counting the interactivity of npcs, that they are really important for the plot and the progress of the game. -* All I can gather is that the NPCs are important to plot and story progress.
Everyone should try it out because this is an excellent project.
In that short paragraph, It has been said that your game rocks, Strangeluv. - Illustrious

A Home Far Away Review
The song I am tired of is Dan_Forestvillage from the classroom at the beginning. If I remember correctly, I think I started hearing this in Legend of Philosopher's Stone. Its been in a few other games as well, but I can't remember them by name. All I know is I want to call for this song to stop.
Choppy maps
= The one called Way to Land's End: Lower right hand corner
You suggest a cliff, looks strange and choppy
= Also map 212 and other maps of Woodluck Forest. Those sets of trees do not form together seamlessly and are visually very rough. They are full of sharp edges too. This is a reason I never chose to use this chipset myself.
= See map 121- Palm trees coming together with some really squared off dark spaces.
= the map called Right (Featherhill) the lighter shade of water used to show depth is used poorly.
= Also see the map of the class room you start in, that is just all around bad.
A lot of the chipsets are cropped poorly to begin with. I will just assume you worked with what you had,

Discussion isn't drama.
I have re-upped interest in reviewing games as part of my participation on this site. In doing so, I am showing my support for not limiting discussion, However, "drama" here is certain developers not desiring unlimited discussion.
I can't say for sure where Max McGee fits into all this. I believe he is genuine when saying his intention is taking a stand about an assessment he feels is not fair, but he can't seem to respond in a way that doesn't show he is experiencing some butthurt. I doubt it is just me who perceives this, but it does appear Max is one of the more easily offendable people in our community.
A few years back I tried to cater strictly to the crowd who wanted to hear my god-honest unbiased opinion of their games. I did not want all the screaming from those who were not able to handle me being constructive. I had a reviewing series called "Review by Request". They were not unsolicited reviews so I never got any of this "Well, who asked you for your two cents" attitude. So, how does this site feel? Are we better for reviewing peoples projects when they did not ask for or may not even desire it?

The balconies are different sizes because I try to envision this place as not having a level ceiling. Usually I do not let a straight square or rectangular map suffice and this was an attempt to give it a sense of dimension in some other way. When the two balconies were even I considered the map less interesting.
I see more what you are saying with the chair because I thought the same thing too. In the end, I thought I should not be afraid to have items like chairs obstruct things they typically wouldn't once in a while. What I actually might do is use some smaller chairs.
Edit: Thinking over what I said about the balconies, I guess saying it is an uneven ceiling makes little sense.
I still think the perspective of the balconies isn't physically impossible and the arrangement of the room is more interesting this way.
