I agree with self advertising. I don't see it being shameful of a dev to put in a request for misao nominations if the readers experience was enjoyable after the end credits, or maybe in a blog update when the game is released.

Maybe it's possible to have some site algorithm that makes the 'nominate' link all glowy or something if the game is eligible that year?

Also, afaik, July-ish is as hectic for a lot of people as Jan/Dec is due to schooling and shit anyway. We'd never find a good schedule if we bounced around the year because someone is always gonna be busy. At least Jan/Dec is actual holidays for almost all the world. Sure, that's part of what makes it hectic - for some - but with holidays comes an expectation of time to self and part of that is time to play. Of course, not everyone is going to be able to find the time what with Christmas and shit, but for the most part they have TIME which is a hell of a lot more than can be said for June/July, where you got about 2-weeks worth of time off, if that, for most of the world.

I dunno about ya'll, but I sure as heck don't have family to visit and events to plan for outside of Christmas time.

Wrap that around the fact unless you're some sort of super business person that actually gets off the week (and one week only) of Christmas, idk most of us lowbies only seem to get off.. Christmas Day? Maybe? idk, that sounds pretty busy to me. What are you doing in June/July? Cooking for a week long Independence Day celebration?

Sticking to tradition this hard because "That's how it's been done for 20 years" sure sounds 'American' in my book.
