Looks good, overall.
Whats bothering me is the blue. It's way too intense for me, although I know, some games used to have those menu colors. But it makes it impossible to see some of the shadows of the typo and I'd also cosider a different transition of "New Skill". Maybe just the pink to yellow from Skill.

I love how you abandon traditional pixel art for visuals that truly feel raw and gritty, and even use Rm2k3's color limitations as part of your artistic direction. You don't see that accomplished very often. Reminds me a bit of JPC's old maps.

Thanks again, I really appreciate that!

I've been working with RM2k3 for about 15 years now and this game is in the making for 13. And right from the beginning I had this strong dislike towards color limitations. But that was more out of a lack of knowledge. So I would not say, I "use" the limitations. Since I'm using easyrpg now, they are gone anyway. :D
I hate to pixel. It's not that I don't like the style for some games, but not for mine. This is gonna be the darkest and most depressing game of all time and I don't want it to look colorful and stylized. Okay, kidding a bit here ... just a bit.

Think the gif above is actually suffering a bit of compresssion, too. But you'll see that when you arive there, if you havn't already. :)

what's JPC btw?

I could offer mutual testing, too, in case yours is this far already :)

the effects you've pulled off

I try to make an effort to. :) Although I use some plugins. Originally from DynRpg, but now "migrated" into the esayrpg player.

Seems really ambitious for rm2k3! I'll definitely give this game a shot. Anything that has had so much effort put into it, deserves a chance! If you want my honest opinion, the 10 year development cycle does show a bit. The resources seem to come from throughout the years. But then again that's kinda part of the charm, so don't worry too much about that.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, the 10 years show. But I feel unable to totally get rid of that fact. ^^ So thanks for encouraging me on it. However the trailer does show some old resources, too. I have to make a new one soon.
You up for beta testing too? :)

[RM2K3] Is there a plugin or patch that can change chara sprite dimensions?

https://ci.easyrpg.org/ here you can download the current builds of the player. and editor is planned but it's rather far from ready. you just copy the player into your game and start. and there are builds for all sorts of platforms.

hm, yeah, my case was the same, I used multiple dyn plugins. but I found someone who integretated them into the easyrpg player for me, which was not ... easy.

DEEP 8 Crowdfunding Concept

@orochii

Thanks. I really appreciate your feedback! I totally forgot to mention that they are supposed to be colored. Currently I'm working on painting some of them more or less realistically. But it's totally up to the funders, what they want. here's some variations:

On the underwear thing: I'm kinda insecure about this, because I need to think "market-compliant". I could be something unique and funny, but it could also deter people.

@Kylailathanks, that's what I needed right now <3

[RM2K3] Is there a plugin or patch that can change chara sprite dimensions?

the easyrpg player is actually fully functioning already :) so if it's really just for taller charsets, I'd use this.
also it's compatible to the offical RM 2k3.

[RM2K3] Is there a plugin or patch that can change chara sprite dimensions?

ehm ... of course yo cannot use easyrpg, if you're using other dyn patches, yes :|

guess I'll post some more screens in the future.

@Deckiller: Is it me or are your picture broken?

[RM2K3] Is there a plugin or patch that can change chara sprite dimensions?

you can use this when using the easyrpg player: https://easyrpg.org/
all you have to is write "$" at the beginning of the filename you want to use it on.

additional benefits:
- you can leave colors to RGB
- you can use alpha channel in charsets

disadvantage:
- no preview
