From what I saw being reported on twitter today, apparently lots of hospitals are lying about Coronavirus deaths and are instead reporting them as H1N1?
Quite worrisome. I really don't think we're quite ready to take the blow.
That being said I've decided to use this time in quarantine to teach art one on one. Hopefully that can be of use. (btw if anyone's interested on 1 on 1 classes, art counseling etc. just hmu inbox or on twitter :) )

The fact they're talking 12-18 MONTHS of quarantine makes me think this is going to be some of the densest months in human history since, I don't know, the world wars? the industrial revolution?

Wow. Meanwhile nobody at home is able to work (other than me), electricity is due and I haven't read anywhere that they're even staving off cutting electricity services in here :( (well, they're considering freezing that in two states only, and one of them is really just about the water bill)

well, what we can do, it's not like our personal family life hasn't been a combo of bad shit since early 2019, we can get through this... but it certainly would be a blessing if the government would take some measures to make sure its population can remain functional. Like freezing my debt that goes at 14% per month so I can delay payment for one month and just buy more food and essentials for my family @_@

can you count on it though? SO MANY families depend on that income and constantly live on edge. On my family, we're ALWAYS one month behind with the electricity bill. As in, we pay it "every" month (sometimes we skip, they cut it, and we pay everything at once with a loan or something) , but it's the previous one that we pay. I know SO many families like that. It's terrible, it's bad education and bad planning, but we -- and so many others -- are stuck deep within this cycle and while it certainly kind of works, come the first shit like this and of course it falls apart, especially in a country with as big of an informal workforce as in Brazil.

Also, my mother is a tattoo artist. Not hard to figure she's got absolutely no clients whatsoever (but still has to pay rent for her tattoo shop...)

I haven't seen any special government measure yet other than ordering things to close down and etc. No relief funds, no assurance of salary, etc, here in my state of São Paulo is where the contagion is at its worst ("just" 300 people, though), yet families have read the days off of school as an opportunity to storm my city of Santos* and suntan. So, yay, my town is suddenly an out-of-season tourist hotspot in the middle of a pandemic! With the added bonus of pro-bolsonaro supporters (including a lot of elderly people, as well as children of supporters) organizing rallies for WHATEVER reason like in the picture I've sent previously. It's pretty absurdist. For me, nothing's changed much. The BRL as a currency has somehow plummeted and it was the worst hit currency in the pandemic.

Also mom has no clients anymore, of course, so I"m trying to feed everyone at home and keep us afloat but i'm shit at that. At least the dollar is worth 20% (TWENTY PERCENT) more BRL than it was a few months ago.


*fun fact: Santos is the southern hemisphere's biggest port.

Oh my god the Thank You DLC thing makes so much sense and it feels like such a good idea. I'll definitely consider playing that card at some point. It makes a lot of sense in terms of allowing yourself to have the reach of a (free) steam game without necessarily having to cash that (expensive for a free, ad-less, simple-but-polished game) $100 buck fee.

If I ever revisit or make something that I think is worthy of being a free game on Steam, I'll definitely consider that route!

BTW, are you allowed unlimited DLCs after paying the $100 fee? Because having to pay an extra $100 for the Thank You DLC would definitely hurt. Another useful way to capitalize on free games via DLC is by selling asset packs of your games. I definitely will consider doing that in the future, although there's not too much reason to do so with my current RPG Maker-centric packs.

BUT I think if you narrow down the free game selection to those that are considered complete by there creators, which still includes a TON of games, you would likely have a much fairer and closer comparison. I would even contend that the free games might edge out the paid ones.

Hmm, it may be so! We can't say for sure without researching. But I believe otherwise and I do think the average for commercial games may be a little bit higher. Not a lot, though. I mean, commercial RM games have a LOT of shitty asset flips made by inescrupulous devs. But free RM games also have a lot of terrible amateurish projects as well even if you only consider those that are "completed"... many of which might have a hard time comparing to even some of the asset flips. And then again some of the "bad" commercial RM games are trippier and way crazier (even if still shitty) than a lot of free stuff.
So it's really... I don't know. There's such a wealth of amazing free RM games, though, absolutely no doubt! If I were to list it, it'd become a huuuge list! And it's easy to recall of these first. But yeah, um.

Anyway I'd love to see more devs shooting for steam, even if for free with a donation page. It certainly will help making the commercial RM scene seem more pleasant to dive into, rather than the piles of placid asset flips and uninspired rtp hentai.

BTW, I really wish Soma Spirits was more popular, that game deserves so muchhhhh....................... i mean so many steam rm games but soma spirits in particular i'm like WHY ISN'T THIS GAME FAMOUS

I have just added the pack to Itch, it's available in the new thread now. And I went ahead and made a second monster. So y'all have two monsters to play around with, now.
Even if we don't reach the donation goals, I'll still try to find time to keep updating this. But if no donations come in, I can't really say it'll happen for sure


Anyway, thanks for sticking out and I hope you get to enjoy the two free monsters! And I hope I can make lots of cool new stuff this year. I got some monsters for a new monster pack on the way, too.
