Putin is a father bringing his sons back into the family where they belong. He will not give up his presidency because it's time someone actually started fixing things in Russia and he is the to do it.
Sorry, but the Soviet Union isn't coming back, no matter how much you pine for an era you were never around for and do not understand. It was an oppressive blight on eastern Europe.

Cut him some slack. He's just coping with the idea that his greatest accomplishment in life will be swapping out the power supply in Random Customer A's computer, and that when he dies even Random Customer A won't remember it ever happened.
