One of the free-to-play ones this week sounded interesting. Sin-something. She rides a wolf/boar and has a magic flail. I think I will try her out.

No. I could but it'd require a lot of manual labor though, because you can't generate events or pictures in RM2000 (or better yet, give you direct access to the map data).

Ummm... I know this game moved away and all, but there doesn't seem to be any activity on its current page either. So... anything new going on?
I haven't worked on squat since early January. I got too absorbed in too many video games, as I typically do. The last thing I did was some fog-of-war style thing, for lack of a better term. Basically it renders rooms when you enter them for the first time, and after that it renders inactive-but-explored rooms in dark grayscale. Like this:

Basically it just uses a flood algorithm to identify what a room is. The image below shows the tile metadata that's used to identify room boundaries. The metadata isn't something I have to draw by hand in the map editor--rather it is attached to specific tiles automatically.
That was the last thing I did, though. I'll work on it again at some point. I stopped blogging because I sort of hate blogging. I tried it for awhile and got sick of it pretty rapidly.

... or because I don't get internet at my new flat until the back-end of April and so can't play SC2.
You can play SC2 single-player offline. You only need to log in once to authenticate.
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Well I have a 3DS and I have finished EO4. It is great.
Sub-classing is only useful for passives this time, because most classes have very insular actives that don't play well with others. While these mechanics are neat, particularly arcanist circles and imperial drive techniques, it makes sub-classing and party dynamics a bit less interesting on the whole compared to EO3.
There is no ship crap in EO4, which is instead replaced by an overworld. A big advantage of this method is it really frees up how you can build your party. Dungeons are now a shorter affair so you don't need to organize your entire ability set towards something sustainable, because your mana reserves will largely hold out. It also allows a lot of side-dungeons which can be organized around more gimmicky puzzles that are a nice diversion but could be annoying if they were a progression obstacle.
The music is great. The 3D is poor. The graphics are good.

eo3 was "let's make a terrific game with the old dungeon concept, but tie it in to a really cool ship exploration side-mission that helps you dungeon delve, as well as switch up the class system to our best set yet"
Yeah, no. The ship content in EO3 is terrible and almost ruins the game. EO3 has the best class/ability synergy.

I might. I haven't played since May 4 so there are a lot of changes and new champions I won't know how to play against. I have a rule though: I'm Heimerdinger.
