The Last King of Hyrule

Use them however you see fit. You will need to replace the symbol is all, and probably edit the tattered one just abit to clean it up.

This is what I was imaging:
Forest Temple:
Kokiri's Emerald
Fire Temple:
Goron's Ruby
Shadow Temple:
Sheikah's Eye maybe?(since that would be the most closely associated).
Spirit Temple:
That Moon and Star symbol back before they changed into another symbol of the Gerudos because of the whole dumb controversy. I don't know either way right?
Cloud Temple:
I was thinking some kind of symbol from Skyward Sword

Right now I'm about to wrap up my temple by doing a few more edits, and it will be ready for a final submission.

EDIT:
I've completed the mini-boss, and right now I'm trying to figure out what advantage I'm going to give to the player. This temple is almost about done I'd say! Also I restructured a room to add a tiny challenge as I felt it was kind of odd how it looked like.

Also I've been meaning to ask. How do you go about connecting the level to the boss level since it's separate?

EDIT 2:
I'am now finished with the Oceanic Palace, and I'm quite mentally worn out now lol. Far as I can tell there is no more bugs(I hope anyway), and I changed some things around one last time, and hopefully it makes the level much more better.

Now how to defeat boss-bot(mini-boss). There are times he will jump out of the water either in his normal or spin-blob form. Doing a downward strike at the right time will hurt it. Also watch out for his blob-spit attack since you'll be jumping around the water.

Boss:
This one requires patience, and wit. There are special crops to destroy this beast, and timing them is crucial or else you are in for a rough fight. Also I did manage to create a custom graphic for his chainball. I morphed into a water-blob attack instead of fish spikes.

EDIT 3:
Eventhough I feel it's done let me know of future changes. Also I might try to add a few things here, and there for the temple, so I might keep going back to it every now and then. Btw I'm also scouring the interwebs for stuff we can use. I found something of interest made by HylianFox back in 2009 on a obscure webpage...unfortunately not all sprites were available, but he had some cool looking temple sprites, but I did manage to get this however:

I also found this made my Miragos. It will just need a NES edit:

I encountered a unknown Zelda-II style Link that has more animations, and been given a update, but has kept the 8-bit look, the person on the site where I found it was not sure where it was from either, and neither did the forum. So if we wanted to we can now give link a climbing animation instead of a fairy.

From the cutting room floor:
I notice a couple of you guys were going for the graveyard theme, and I found something you might like. It was a unused scroller from Zelda-II:

I also found this where a complete set of animations are as I was wondering why some the sprites I've seen were in-complete for the most part:
http://www.nes-snes-sprites.com/ZeldaIITheAdventureofLink.html

I also found a custom version of Young-link in Zelda-II style, I don't think we have any use for this, but I thought I share it in case something happens during development: (Made by MissingNo2)

There was more animations, looks like there is a swimming animation for the world-map: (Made by MissingNo2)

Now unfortunately I could not find a Zelda-II style Deku scrub as I noticed alot of people are using those little guys that spit pellets in their levels. I could attempt to make one, but I want to see if anyone is already doing that.

The Last King of Hyrule

Alright I finished my revisions, I offer two versions:

Non-tattered Type

Tattered Type:

Really I could use both, but anyway these are outside versions thus the red-colors as a way to trick the outside background, and the objects like it's one and the same. I had to remove a couple of clouds, but that is of no consequence. I was thinking of making it more of a darker-green shade if I'm able to do so through the palette.

Also for the first picture, you think I should remove those cloth strings or does it make the banner ok still?

EDIT:
Got done with the resizing, and both came out like this.

Version 1: (I decided to remove those cloth strings as it looked better without it).

Version 2:(I had to heavily edit this one to fix alot of colors that got jumbled alittle).

Should there be a annual-RMN parody game?

Hopefully it becomes a reality. Also that's why I suggested, I've noticed this community is pretty tight since I've been coming here.

Should there be a annual-RMN parody game?

author=pianotm
Can I be the bad guy?

Sure! Anything goes with this idea! Go wild!

Should there be a annual-RMN parody game?

Meaning we are the stars, and we all make inside-jokes about RMN.net.

Like for example, game-scene:
Kentona: THE A IS FOR ANDERSON!!!! YOU FOOL!!!!!!!!!! WTF BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! (goes out in a blaze of glory with a giant smokey A floating in the air).
The main character: o_O!!? That escalated quickly!

It does not have to limit to just us, we can bring the characters from various RMN games into one giant parody game. I think it would be a incredibly mindless fun community game I think everybody would love to jump into.

It can be both or either or. Just a fun idea I was thinking about today. The main villain can be something utterly ridiculous to the point of beyond comprehension, and has a wacky, and hilariously diabolical plan for all of RMN. I was thinking of a running gag mario character called Dr.Toadly can be the villain.(I think he was a running gag as I've seen that character so many times mentioned, and I saw him a SMBX game once in a factory level).

The Last King of Hyrule

Yeah here it is, it was made by a guy named Koopaul:

Well I guess I could try to do a Gerudo-desert level. I had a thought what could be done with that.

Speaking about that banner. I don't know what I could do with it. Either I match it with a black background or match it with a green background. I'm going to try to do one last revision on it. I could try to merge it with bricks. Instead it would just look like a insignia instead of a flag. There is some issues with this as I know it needs to be reduced down in size, and it would cause at least like 20% loss of the picture. What I'm going to do is only restrict it indoors for only certain areas that will not clash in, and I might just go ahead, and change the colors to match the temple in some way.

I need your opinion on something however. I was thinking of changing the indoors portion of the backgrounds throughout the whole temple into just a black background. The more I look at the one I'm looking at with the green bricks in the back it just does not look right to me. Would something simple as a black background work or should I try to take a brick-background, and turn it green to match the temple? (There is red-brick background that is available to be used, but It's meant for houses).

Also I hate to ask anyone that can do that is, but if anyone can make a fish-spike to replace bowser's chainball attack that would be appreciated! Unless there is a 8-bit graphic you know of instead that could be used. I would have just disabled that attack of his, but SMBX does not allow that I think.

What are you thinking about right now?

What I'm thinking about right now tonight:

Sad, and frustrated.

The Last King of Hyrule

Most issues are hopefully fixed this time, but I'm going to be honest with you I'm not really happy about the whole banner issue. This was just a attempt to least bring some kind of uniqueness into this event. Add something to Zelda-II that does not exist. Reason why I chose Gyorg from spriter's resource as well.

Also I fixed the boss up (I think...I did what you said correctly, though I can't tell much of difference after doing the whole resizing). Tell me if it's still a issue.

l'll adjust the platforms, but not tonight right now.

EDIT:
You didn't see the edit I made in the previous post, but I had to restrain myself. But if you saw that I apologize. That's the problem with me that has been with me for years. Sometimes certain types of criticism rubs me the wrong way, but I shouldn't act like that when you see something that isn't so good. I guess the whole banner thing kind of destroyed me because I never put so much effort into one sprite from scratch before. I really should not be sensitive about it. Just a sprite.

Also..I think I won't do a Gerudo Desert level now. Not because of what happened. I just don't feel like I'm good enough to do this sort of thing like I thought. Least I learned alot I guess.

The Last King of Hyrule

....

- You put the player start location in the wrong spot. Again.
(Oops) (FIXED)

- This "banner" needs to be deleted. It's really, really, really ugly. And the limit to NES colors isn't the reason - the one you posted in the forum was even worse. Also you didn't even fix the resolution problem.
Fixed.....

- You use the "face" blocks in some places as background and in other places as blocks that you can stand on. And some of the tangible face blocks bounce when hit from below, while others don't. Please be consistent. This problem wasn't here in the older version...
That was intentional for some blocks to be able to stand on. (FIXED)

- This new sky section you added in the upper right part of the temple is sorta bad, I'd just delete it, and then delete the gate that's unlocked by the key you put there. Link doesn't do well with ladders and vines (I need to remove the one in my river level) and there are graphic errors with the eyeball monsters.
Fine I will delete it (FIXED...)

- I'm not really sure why you added new sections since the previous version was already way too long.
Because I felt players deserve some kind of challenge. (FIXED anyway)

- Bouncing across the enemies in the top half of room 10 is almost impossible. Link doesn't bounce high enough off the heads of the octoroks to reach the tektites when they're in midair, and timing your jumps so that they'll both be on the ground when you get to each of them is sort of insane. The octoroks in the room before this are almost as bad because the ceiling keeps you from jumping on them. This is generally just too much precision platforming.
You're not meant to jump across in case that happens thus why the water is there. (FIXED)

- The coral in the save point room can be stood on or you can hit your head on the bottom of it. Seems unintentional.
Again it's merely intentional in case player wants to mess around. Plus I'm thinking of doing something with it for the mini-boss

- The flying fish have Mario Bros flying fish death graphics when they die.
That is something I'm going to fix. I was aware of that one. (FIXED)

- Can you get rid of the enemies that are in the part of section 4 that you first land in? Either that or make the player land on a platform safely above them. (I still don't think those pillar-tops look like background, they make it sort of confusing where I can and can't stand, though this wouldn't be as big a deal if I weren't frantically trying to dodge five enemies while getting out of the water half a second after falling into the map.)
I will get on that (FIXED)

- The bat in section 5 hits you less than a second after entering the map.
That was meant to test your reflexes, but fine I will delete it. (FIXED)

- The water in section 5 isn't water!
Oversight on my part (FIXED)

- The pixels on dat fish boss are as bad as the banner! To fix this with minimal effort: reduce image size to 50%, then increase image size to 200%. If you're in Photoshop, make sure that the blending type is set to "Nearest Neighbor (preserve hard edges)", so that it pixellates it instead of anti-aliasing it.
My paint.net is capable of this as well. I will change it up. I tried to make it more NES-like in appearance when I was changing it's colors. (FIXED...I think)

- In the boss room (and I think other places) there are circular windows that show blue sky. But right next to them are arched windows that show red sky. I'm confuuuused.
That cannot be right because those windows should show red, and they are the only windows in the game. Also those things if I remember right are glass orbs, not windows. I know that can be confusing. I went ahead and deleted them anyway just for that room

- There also appears to be grass growing from the top of the circular windows in the boss room?
Those are plant-bombs you throw at the boss....wait a minute there should not be grass up there. I didn't even see it. I curious to what you saw. Are you sure it was not just a graphical-slide glitch? I've seen that happen sometimes when you move around the screen, some graphics cause a tear, but l'll take another look.

Sorry if I seem irritable about the banner. I just put so much effort into it. I'm never attempting custom things anymore.

The Last King of Hyrule

Ok I properly separated the water boss fight into it's own level, I will submit the file in a minute.

Andddddd it's done. Hope you like what I did with it. The guy from spriter's resource is so awesome.
