I've also thought about being a linguist, though I'm not sure what job opportunities lie in that besides a professorship. Though, I could be a interpreter. I've heard that sign language interpreters get paid big bucks (go figure).
They do pretty well. I go to a university with a special program for deaf students - it has by far the greatest number of deaf students in the country, I guess. There are hundreds of hearing interpreters around campus.
It's somewhat distracting in class, and the deaf students are in their own little world, but RIT always needs interpreters so it's certainly worth getting into around here. (Have fun signing Shakespeare though!)
As for me, I guess I want to go into animation, seeing as how that is what my major is!
If that doesn't work out, though, I have an 'in' at a civil service job.

2. A very basic and generic smithing 'system' that is in there more for promoting exploration.

My game is less about features and more about taking advantage of what RMVX can do well. So yeah, maybe I'll add more things, but I don't plan on going crazy with it.

The RTP, depending on the version of rpgmaker, is anywhere from 10-30 MB, which is hardly a major resource hog. If you can download a 20 MB+ game you can download the RTP. Stop complaining.
It's not that I don't think it's a good idea to distribute out of the community. And I don't really mind personally whether people include the RTP or not, but it's really not worth whining about.

Your Opinion
I'd recommend getting or making images and using a font that work better together visually. Right now, these are all pretty garish because the high contrast, one-color fonts don't work well with the detailed fantasy art.
Mad at RMVX's capabilities?
KCG and MrAnonymous are awesome and anyone who is using RMVX should really consider looking at these.
