General question on "Skills"

The way rm2k3 handles the intelligence stat is retarded normally.

Best solution: do not rely on effect rating, set the influence to 10, and set the base element effectiveness to 200% (or more) instead of being at 100%. This will make the int stat much more valuable because it's effectiveness is doubled.

I can get more detailed if you need a better explanation.

Knight Templar

I suggest making a topic in the game making forum. I'd like to know more about what I'm downloading, especially when it's so large.

A Logo and stuff

No fruitier than a peach or a pear anyway.

I resent that!

Also, hi Ling!

Yes, Rock Band is awesome.

I don't believe harm was talking about natural talent as much as he was about his natural ability to identify pitch. Which, as he said, is real.

As for the TALENT versus SKILL debate, just drop it. There are a million points and counterpoints on the subject and no one ever agrees, either because those who lack the skill say you must be gifted, or those who have a knack for it say anyone can learn how to paint/write music/whatever.

Looking for People for a gaming group

The thing about starting a group project is this:

You really need to sell yourself. Right now you've said you 'want to make a game' and that's nice. Problem is, lots of people want to make games, and what, 98% of them or so never see the light of day? This includes team projects.

I'm not saying you won't be able to get a group of capable people together. But if you really want to convince people to help you, I suggest you give an interesting description of one of your game ideas, perhaps in the game making forum which more people look at, and show some examples of your map-making and writing prowess. Lots of people say they are 'good at stories', but they are more than often not.

Anyway, as people get to know you, they'll be more apt to help you.

Good luck.

As long as I have the time, I'll try and get a demo of my RMVX game "Philadelphia" out.

I read that as Paedophilia for some reason. ^o^ Silly me.

Thanks. ;_;

Release Something! Day II: The Sequel [March 20th]

As long as I have the time, I'll try and get a demo of my RMVX game "Philadelphia" out. If that isn't possible, I'll release something related to it.

2007 Misaos

Looks like Quintessence stole the show.

Some good showings by Master of the Wind and Alter A.I.L.A too.

Possibly the Hardest Game Ever

EASY!?!??!!? Your call Fire Emblem EASY!??!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me? Many of the later levels especially I have to replay at least twice before I get through without a character dying. I think it took me 10 tries to get threough the final chapter (without anyone dying). One of four things can explain your claim:

1. Your lying.
2. I suck at those games. Badly.
3. You have godly powers that let you do everything just right.
4. Both 2 and 3.

Meh......

Fire Emblem (7) and Sacred Stones (eight) are among the easiest in the series. 8 even allows indefinite power-leveling - no other game in the series allows for that.

They aren't hard at all if you properly use your characters. Charging with your mage against a pack of knights is not a good idea.

Balance

You might want to tell us a little more about your game first. And also, the maker.
