Yes, that would be good. I can't see how you need to change his dialogue in the game for. His english seems perfectly fine to me.
We're talking about the same game, right? No offense, but if you think Don Miguel's dialogue is fine, I'd worry about the writing in your game.
Anyway, I suggest the topic creator download these for decent-to-good examples of rm2k games:
A Blurred Line
The Way
Kinetic Cipher
Three the Hard Way
Legion Saga 2
Love and War
Onyx
Romancing Walker
NigSek
Also consider downloading rm2k3 and trying these:
Ara Fell
Kinetic Cipher (Again)
Alter A.I.L.A
Rise of the Third Power
Legacies of Dondoran
Hero's Realm
RMXP games worth trying:
Master of the Wind
Last Scenario
RMVX just got released, so there's not much out for that yet.
Things That Make Me Mad
If this was remotely clever or funny, I wouldn't mind - but as is? It just reads like a list of misguided rage. The only thing worth reading is #20 for the IMPECCABLE LOGIC of it all.
RPG MAKER 2000 - Still Kicking
The only game I suspect that's gotten close is Laxius Power 3, due to the sheer length of the game. But that's only a guess.
In my opinion, if you use 5000 switches/variables, you're probably doing something wrong in the context of rpgmakers.

For people who don't know how to script or any of that sort, I would recommend you use such engines as Sphere, (maybe ika), etc.
I assume you mean 'do' know how to script, as those programs require knowledge of programming languages to make any use out of them. (JS for Sphere, Python for ika)
As for Rm2k, yeah, good fun. Minus the current lack of graphics and the lame tileset problem, though, there's no real reason not to use RMVX over it.
Newbie asking for RPG Recommendation :)
My game will be good...when it's longer then 10 minutes!
Many of the games mentioned are excellent, but here are some others worth trying:
Romancing Walker
ONYX 1 and 2
Everlong
Starless Umbra

how to put in characters
RM95 - Original rpgmaker. No one really uses this anymore.
RM2k - Big upgrade to RM95. Can actually make a reasonably good game with it.
RM2k3 - Pretty much an upgrade to RM2k, but with a buggy sideview battle system. Interface is pretty much the same as RM2k.
RMXP - First rpgmaker with scripting. Supports a higher resolution(640x480). Has slowdown problems.
RMVX - The last rpgmaker, made to be user-friendly. Best performance among the rpgmakers. Has a few annoying and somewhat serious problems related to tilesets, but it is the best of the rpgmakers otherwise.
RMVX and RM2k are in no way the same. RMVX is much more advanced.
Having said that, RMVX is probably easier to use overall, not counting the lack of graphic resources and scripting.
The best way to learn about any of the rpgmakers is to simply make a test game of sorts, trying out stuff as it comes. That tutorial, however, is not totally irrelevant to RMVX. The basic workflow is similar.

In my opinion, compared to almost every other rpg maker game, just the demo for my game puts them to shame. I know that sounds rash or egotistical of me, but look at most of the games made with the rpg maker programs. I have played countless amounts of these amateur games and I honestly believe that most of them are a completely waste of time to even look at.
This game's okay, which is more than I could say for many RM* ABS games, but it's just that - okay. I'd drop the arrogance. There are plenty of good RM* games in RM2k, RM2k3 and RMXP. Even RMVX has some games worth looking at, and it's only been out for a month or so here.
The story from the outset sounds relatively interesting, but it really doesn't pull me in. The dialogue uses lots of big words, but the grammar is consistently awkward, making it hard to appreciate. The narrative is slow and ponderous - I never became interested in the characters or how they interact with the world, and two hours or so is far more than enough time to do this in.
The combat, for the most part, involves jamming the space key as much as possible and using the heal spell/items if you need them. This makes the combat rather bland and uneventful, much like an uncreative rm2k/3 DBS. Unlike drakiyth, I had no problems with pricing or healing. You can get the Minor Heal spell very quickly, and that's plenty.
I liked the exploration elements myself. My own game also uses exploration elements, so it's nice to see some good ideas used here. My complaint in this area is that it is sometimes hard to tell whether you can pick up stuff.
So yeah, good luck with this. But do drop the ego, alright? Your demo does not put pretty much every other RM* game I've played to shame, sorry.
