Befuddle Quest 5: Zack to the Future

I'll save you some trouble and tell you that you can't until you've passed the door in the room with the 5 switches

Befuddle Quest 5: Zack to the Future

they all serve the same purpose. get a box on each of the 5 to open the door... or get 4 boxes on each of them, walk on the 5th yourself and gaze at the open door, before it closes once you leave the switch

Befuddle Quest 5: Zack to the Future

if you hit the wrong crystal at any time during the sequence, you simply start from the first pair again. The sequence of crystals stays the same as long as you don't lose all your lives, or restart the map.
Any of those will trigger an event which will set a new random sequence.

Befuddle Quest 5: Zack to the Future

first you need to learn the sequence at the lone crystal below the 5 others, found by continuing towards the right rather than down the ladder.
second you need to push the stone down the maze so that you can reach the 5 crystals, and
third, you need to activate the crystals in the same sequence that you saw earlier

something that irks me when looking at this pic. Why are you having something resembling an 'i' representing a '1' for both "next level" and "hp" while in what I presume is the hotkey bar using a normal '1'?

The dumbest idea you ever tried to make

my dumbest, or at least among them, would probably be the time I made some special way of updating different properties of weapons in rm2k3, which basically meant a lot of variable operations. It ended up with about 8500 variable operations on a single event page and it took about 2 min just to open the event afterwards.
A bit later I found out that "call event" would made things a lot easier

(RM2K3) I can't get my dynamic day/night cycle to work.

it doesn't work cuz the event doesn't wait until the counter has reached 0. as soon as you start the timer it moves to the next command, and given that you keep setting the timer to 0, there won't be much happening

Custom Menu

you need to check the value of the variable you used for input, otherwise whatever's behind the input will activate upon hitting any of the "valid" keys

assuming that you're using rm2k3 (given your game profile) you could possibly check this out
http://rpgmaker.net/users/Kazesui/locker/CBS_template.zip
it's a "learning" template I made a while ago for someone who wanted to learn some of the basics for a cbs.
it's basically some simple menus and stuff stored in 5 events in the upper left of the first map.
it's "half-way" well commented, so it might be of a little help.

The big pumpkin is the one you control and which you use to gather the candy (the bucket so to speak), and the tiny ones are other ones are opposing ones which might take your candy away

Befuddle Quest 5: Zack to the Future

the "can't wait" bit, as "wait" is probably the keyword here
