RM2k(3) lovers, FIGHT!

This kind of sentiment I really don't understand. Like I said earlier, it's not like he's asking for money or anything. How many of us can't spare a few seconds to check out the blog or post a bit of feedback? If you genuinely can't then that's entirely alright, but don't act like you are being asked to fall madly in love with this program only to have your dreams dashed. I can't... I can't be hurt again...

1. Show support for software.
2. See it die.
3. "Oh, so it died. Meh."

We've all gotten tired of that. If someone wants to make software then nobody's going to stop him, but if he wants support from the RM community which was repeatedly driven to disappointment in this regard he must show clearly and with conviction that TURBU is different from its cousins.

How can you not comprehend that somebody might need to see some encouragement to finish something like this? It's a pretty large operation, especially for one person, and the only hype I've seen it's creator (I am 99% sure that RPGVirtuoso is not Mason Wheeler, it's designer) show is a brief thread asking for interest at GW a long time ago.

The fault here largely lies with the way RPGVirtuoso (regardless of him being the creator or not) showcased TURBU and then continued to vehemently vouche for its solidity when just about every other RM-influnced program died at this stage (lots of screenshots, features, code, but far from being finished). I'm pretty sure we'll all gladly show support once something commendable is shown, but as it stands there's nothing for us to support.

Let me just restate this because I think some of you are under the wrong impression: This topic wasn't created by the creator of TURBU. It's not a hype topic!

I could advertise ika for WIP and, while I'm certainly not the creator, I can still hype ika to the point of death.

All in all, we've gotten tired of empty promises. We've seen so many similar software come and go without leaving any mark that we just don't care about any work-in-progress software anymore. If TURBU is completed and/or leaves a mark in RM history we will all gladly welcome and support it with open arms, but until such a time comes TURBU will unfortunately carry the stigma that haunts all RM-influenced game making programs.

RM2k(3) lovers, FIGHT!

While the program looks interesting and has great potential, it was presented to RMN in such a haphazardly fashion that the potential high points of this software has been buried by unsubstantiated hype.

In the course of RM history, there were many programs announced that would build and expand upon RM one way or another. However, all of them died just as suddenly as they appeared. The RM community has learned and moved on: Don't bother supporting such software until the hype can be proven without the least of any doubts.

Rather than coming out for support, it'd probably be better for the software's reputation if it first completed itself before even announcing its presence. TURBU needs to make it clear it's different from its ill-fated cousins, and coming out for support like this is not the way to go about it.

As for the actual software, I'll wait until the fat lady sings to pass any judgment.

Fonts

I do admit I never dabbled too deep into how RM2K3 reads the fonts; I only got into it enough to know how to change fonts via hex editting, and that I specifically needed monospaced fonts if I wanted to use different ones.

The 5px thing is new to me, an interesting find I say. RM2K3's font mechanics severely lacks documentation.

My character constantly moves right...

No problem. It's almost always the joystick if RM2K(3)'s heroes keep running around. ;D

Fonts

Pretty much any monospaced font will be read properly by RPG_RT.exe to my knowledge, TTF or .fon.

My character constantly moves right...

Do you or did you have a joystick or similar controller installed?

Childhood Nostalgia

Epic win. ;_;!

GaoGaiGar will always have a place in my heart.

Something stupid that no one will care about

god i miss war of the magi.

Someone still remembers. ;_;

I'm pretty sure there was a site called RPGSource (or something like that, I can't remember the name well) with Paradigm as the admin or something. I remember seeing this red color themed RM2K site with Paradigm's name literally all over it.

nonamericans: im calling you out

USA
"HEY BRITAIN FUCK YOU *shows balls to British commander*"
"My word that was unnecessary!"
"LICK MY NUTTTTSSSS"
"Listen here you..."
"WHOOOOAH BRITAIN TOO SCARED TO FIGHT EH HOW ABOUT NOW THAT WE'VE DUMPED YOUR TEA INTO THE HARBOUR?!"
"That tea was for everyone to drink!"
"PUSSSSSIESSSS"
"Alright that does it!"

or

CANADA
"Hey Great Britain, we were kind of thinking about forming our own country..."
"What? Oh, it's you, Canada. What were you saying?"
"Well, it's just that... you're very far away, and we're sort of different from you guys now and we'd like to have our own country instead of just being a colony."
"Fine, fine, go away, I have to watch Coronation Street."

I prefer the former. Great friendships always arise from bashing each others' brains out as far as the US and Britain need to care.
