I do not formulate reviews upon request. I do them only on "The RMN Journey" or "The RMN Short-Trip" which is completely random and dependant on my mood. Testing Games and giving Bug Reports or General Feedback I do on request, sometimes even without. Realize that I am nothing more than a gamer. I have no technical expertise in making games or writing scripts of any sort. If I Review a game positively it means that I think that the general crowd would also enjoy the game. If I Review a game negatively it means that I think that it won't be liked. I may be mistaken.

Do NEVER ask me to promote your game. Do NEVER request that I open a thread talking about your game. Do NEVER expect ANYTHING from me. I WILL disappoint you. Except if we are friends. Do ask me if we can be friends, but only if you can take rejection. That's all.

And no, I'm not such an hard-ass. I'm just playing around. If you're nice, I'll be nice too :)

If you are actually interested in my stuff, here is my List of Reviews

The Unequals

Kinda Interesting that this stopped with that. Let me conclude this, more than a year later. And kinda screw with the situation.

God = Devil
Devil ≠ Lucifer
Lucifer ≠ evil

Take care everybody

Secrets of Kankara

I guess you stopped.
Oh well, I did, too.
Hope you're doing well, wherever you are whatever you're doing.
Take care.

The Unequals

Hello. God, this one is simple.

Air ≠ Wind

Take either of those words and unequalize it to something (would be nice if they are in some sense related or have other connection)

The next one does the same with your post

You are allowed to make multible unequals

x≠y
z≠3
3≠8

but the next poster only has to do one

3≠c or y≠a

to continue the chain and become the "post-to-play".

aaaaand.... GO!

Castlevania NKN Review

I pretty much agree with the review.

IF you have any kind of controller or game-pad, map it with GlovePIE (google it). Doesn't cost anything, free to download and use, it can even be mapped to a wii-mode (though that IS much harder to code and the community for it is not the largest one. For Controllers and such however it is pretty easy to use).
With controllers key-jamming is a non issue, which is basically why people get them.
(you can find a GlovePIE script for Xbox360-Controller on the first page of comment section)

The Game itself is needlessly frustrating in that it sends you back from the boss while save-points are always relatively far away. It just adds to the problem of enemies taking pretty long to die (though, the Chain-whip helps alot, once you die on the boss you are on standard-whip again with which killing the swordwielding ghost for example is not so easy)

The game just generally lacks the feel of fair-challenge. I cannot be prepared for what I don't see coming, I cannot avoid, even reflexively, if my jumping is limited (really wished for that double jump ability). And the third boss is really an a**hole once he gets to half hitpoints, and impossible to dodge. At least in my experience.

Either way, the core gameplay is fun enough, but it would really help if the challenge wasn't about "duck and keep whipping until it dies". This game punishes you if you don't stop and look after each and every step you take.

Nontheless, I'm just a sucker fo Castlevania, so I enjoy it anyway. But one must realize that the original had no enemies that where that hard to kill, (skeletons where one, worst case two-hitted), except, of course the later Castlevanias which introduced equipment and such (starting with symphony of the Night on PS1)

I however appreciate the effort! :) No matter if the dev will work or not on improving the game I'm thankful that he made it at all.

Castlevania NKN

How do I use healing spell? (every other spell I have is activated by whipping, which is stone-wall and fire)

Also

I bought the "Unleash the hidden power of your weapon thingy" and it seems to have done literally NOTHING.

plz help :(

If anybody is using GlovePIE with an 360 controller, Here's my setup:

Key.s = XInput.Up
Key.y = XInput.Left *\If you have an american keyboard (z beside x) than put key.z in here instead/*
Key.c = XInput.Right
Key.x = XInput1.Down
Key.l = XInput.A
Key.m = XInput.B
Key.j = XInput.X
Key.k = XInput.Y
Key.LeftShift = XInput.Back

***with this setup: X is attack, B is jump, Y is Spell Change, A is Special attack (must buy skill for 500$ first). The keypad is the directions, One could map the analog stick to it but I refrained from it so it doesn't get too confusing. I also hate using the analog stick in 4 directional movement.***

Edit:
I figured special attack out

Every weapon has it's own effect as well as "Mana" and "Heart" price. As far as I know so far:

1. The knife has a special attack which requires 5 hearts and leads to you swinging a human sized sword from above. Short Range but CHEAP and STRONG.
2. The axe has a special attack which requires 10 hearts and leads to you jumping up the air throwing 8 axes in 8 different directions. very COOL, not practical though.
3. The holy water has a special attack which requires 20 hearts and leads to your character touching the ground and summon a stream of Icicles on the ground on pretty much the whole screen. Semi-useful, but also COOL and STRONG
4. The cruzifix has a special attack which require 25 hearts and leads to about 8 cruzifixes circling around you like a shield, hitting enemies and projectiles, for about 30 seconds. This ability is AWESOME. Edit: Correction: It seems the circling cruzifixes are not dependant on time but on number of hits they gave out, with each cruzifix being able to hit 5 times before it disappears. Would like assurance from that, if any can be given by anyone^^

Figured Healing Spell out
It only costs mana if you hit an enemy while this spell is selected, in which case you are healed. So it is more of a "drain" spell than an actual "recovery" spell.

world_map.png

Go for it, but please keep the Hot spring. It just wouldn't be the same without it xD

Nah, just kiddin'. It is better in anyway to have a more managable map, not only for the poor guy who has to fill it all but also for the player.

I also often See World-Maps in RPG-Makers that piss me the hell off, because there is a Map that I need 2 hours to go around and yet there are 10 or maybe 15 things at best connected to it, which just doesn't justify to have that big map in the first place (except if there are parts of it that are generally unreachable, that's ok then, since nobody forces you to give the player "THE Airship" to check if the hotspring exists... but... well... it'd better exist! *evil eyes*)

world_map.png

Maybe it's the biggest hot spring in the world

Argh. You ruthless editor xD

Might as well be that the lake is normal and the ice is magical ;)

Things are kinda fixed!

Awesome :)

I am utterly useless and cannot figure out ignore features

You know, I can ignore y'all without even using that feature o.o

Oh well..
