LIBERTY'S PROFILE
I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

J*PG
Hmm...
SRPG is already taken so we can't use that (Story RPG). Character RPG? Doesn't really fit.
I'm not sure what alternate term to use because it's a term that encompases a specific type of RPG, I feel. Which is why the term was used, I think.
(Also, it's not true that country-based terms aren't used to denote other countries. Australian Rock, for example, is a term used in music to denote specific type of music. Americana as a descriptor for all kinds of things that give off the American feel. I think the main issue is that JRPG was used derogatarily (wtf?) when these haven't been. Which sucks because to many, many, MANY people it's not used in that way at all.)
So what would an appropriate alternative be?

Hero's Realm: Heroic Edition
I did attempt this once. Only once. I used a battle animation that overlapped the actual character itself by using the background image as a 'background' to the animated frames, but I wonder if you can't leave the attack animation file blank and use battle animations in place instead? So the animation would overlap? It'd be a lot of work and finicky bullshit and in my game I only had the one character so it was a lot easier - I imagine working around four characters that can be in any of four spots would be a LOT harder.
On this day in 2009...
Personally, I'm in it because I loved the OG game so much (it's still one of my fave RM games ever, even after playing literally THOUSANDS of 'em) and because, well, I like ya.
I usually help friends out when they ask, and I like to think of the people on this site as friends, so I think if people are offering they feel the same, perhaps.
It can definitely feel weird and like taking advantage, though, I really get that, but keep in mind that if you're feeling that way, you're probably not taking advantage in a bad way. People who do take advantage of others rarely tend to feel guilt about it, so I think you're fine.

[RMMV] [RMMZ] RPG Maker MZ Free???
It's not buggier or less stable. Not sure where you're getting that from, though the graphics are, imo, worse.
Can't Upload New File Version
Have you tried uploading a new file instead of updating the old one? Usually when you upload you just leave the page alone until it redirects itself since it can take a while but try uploading a new file as a new download instead and see if that works. If so, then it might be an update-upload issue.
