I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

i'm starting a new rpg and would like some advice

literally EVERY MV game submitted to this site has overblown screenshots and i've given hope. maybe we should implement an auto-resizer?

I tend to deny any game page that forces you to scroll more than 1/2 of the scroll bar with an image. With larger resolution games it's a bit hard to get away from larger images.

Honestly, I would love a feature that allows you to have pop-out larger images or auto-shrinks. It's something that is slated for the next update, whenever that happens, so it's not like we don't know it's a problem.

Hey all! I'm recording one last podcast with Shinan and OldPat. Any questions?

@shinan: y u no work bro?

Sonic Gets A Movie But Bubsy Doesn't, What The Hell!

Do you mean the bobcat with two really bland games and a dumpsterfire of a 3D game?

Hey! The first game was great. Hard, yes, but grrrreat!

I lobby for Lobsters being RMN's animal of 2020

Look, I unveiled the hedgehog on the stream.

However, we can come to the table.

Hedgehog for this year.

Lobster for the decade.

How's that sound? Eh? Eh?

12 hour stream to see in the New Year, starting in 10 hours from now! Lonely this New Years? Not any more! Come shoot the shit with pals~

Here's the link:

Starts at 10pm AEST aka 10 hours from now, and will aim to go for 12 hours.

There will be wine, games, announcement of next years animal, the official start of the Misao voting and me! Your hostess!

So, drop on by for a shout or stay the whole time! There may even be a give-away~ ;p

Why so many devs like to make the beginning of their game as hard as possible? It just makes it hard for players to want to play your game. Save the hard parts for later, when they are actually invested in it!

Because hard is subjective.

Or they didn't playtest/playtested too much.

2019 beat the shit out of my self-esteem

I'd say 2020 can't be worse but it's can always get worse. least we got a good lot of games coming in the near future. That's a bright spot we can all use to blank out the rest of the bad.
