Why can't I just poison him a little bit!?

I wanna try how to deal with issues with status:

Problem: Poison + Heal-Stall kills the boss easily.
Solution: Make the boss turn healing into damage. Or make Poison not percentage-based, or the boss could get an attack/intelligence buff somehow to break your stall.

Problem: Normal enemies are too weak to make status viable.
Solution: Make them stronger, duh.

Problem: The boss is too weak while statused/debuffed.
Solution: Try to give him something he can do while affected (e.g. a physical attacker boss could keep defending while his attack is lowered, or a silenced mage boss could throw item bombs at you). Sometimes, though, you have no other choice than to give the boss high resistance/immunity to that status.

Problem: Regular attacks are more useful than anything else.
Solution: Change the normal attack damage into a lower value.

How important is aesthetic character customisation?

It's not the strong story that makes the game good. Neither are gameplay and character design. It's all of them functioning together (or: not getting in each other's way) that makes the game good. Note that an element can be still good when it's very simple, it should be kept out of the spotlight then.

Is it just me, or are battles where it all goes wrong for RM games?

Hard mode could be eg. a switch that's set on ON when hard mode is selected, which permits standard enemies to use more powerful skills and causes events to trigger stronger bosses (Also allows a whole lot of other changes).

Even though my dungeon didn't make it in, I won't bother doing this again. I'm really upset of how the tiles in VX are so painfully limited. I can do better in any other maker in the series (even my RM2k maps look better than my VX ones)

Another Bug: sometimes, the game freezes when mining ore.

What you look for in a RPG-making language?

Looking for greater support what stepping on specific tiles does (2Kx was fine with this, XP also works close, but VX is completely missing it). Also, more event opportunities when a party member does something (like doing a critical hit, winning a battle, leveling up, learning a skill , maybe more).
