LIGHTNINGLORD2'S PROFILE

The site owner spouts white supremacist garbage and the mods react to my concerns by laughing at me. I'm not going to put up with a toxic community like this anymore.

Project Planning/Working Methods?

If you think you have a good idea, but you're not sure whether or not to use it, you should rather do instead scrapping it. It's better to implement a bad idea than discarding a potentionally good one. If you know it wouldn't fit the theme/pace/style/etc. of the game, you may drop it, but you should try to make a sub-project with it when you have the time for it (better write all such ideas down, and take your time to develop them in a positive way). Several developers (I think Craze is a good example) manage to use a terrible idea and use it in a way that it's actually a good thing.

Can games be art?

I see some games created to be art, and I'm okay with it, because they were well done still. Also, I absolutely agree with the statement that games can be art because there are no definitive, absolute definitions of what is art.

You should be a little more shocked! You've got a powerful enemy in front of you.

Why is this game so far behind the deadline?

I will punch into oblivion! >=(

Stop making puns about the ice queen or she'll punch you into oblivion.

And they all lived happily ever after...

Terranigma has an ending that is not only downerish, but makes your quest seem pointless. It involves that
the Big Bad made you rebuild the overworld so he could conquer it and destroy yours. This is tied with a reincarnation cycle of your character (didn't fully understand that) that he's doomed to do this over and over, being only able to end this by failing.

And what's even more stupid is
that your char is granted a final day in his village, with everyone being blissfully unaware that they'll die at the end of the day.

She WILL punch you into oblivion.

Why can't I just poison him a little bit!?

I think normal encounters should be more challenging to make status and stat changers more viable - enemies at the power level of a cardboard box are sure best dealt with just attacking, but beefy mooks with an attack buff that allows them to kill your weaker members in one hit should be a viable target for eg. insta-kill. Standard enemies need just as much attention of the designers as bosses.

Worst videogame character.

I'm absolutely serious about that. Not only pallete swaps are generally percieved as bad, THIS THING IS A FUCKING JOKE as boss. 6 vs. 1, while you attack with two Pokemon at a time. Even the fact that it's Shadow Blast hits my team super effectively, it's (relatively) low Base Power and under-average attack stats make it rather tame. The only reason why I would want to fight this thing is to show that I beat it with a Level 1 Team.
