Well, I'm an old guy, 71(crap,there goes another year:( who loves RPGs, especially Action, Adven., ever since my older brother got me hooked on The Legend of Zelda.
Would LOVE to create a game of my own. Even purchased the ACE program, but got frustrated when I could not even make a decent town river :(
But that's ok, I still love these independent games..

KEEP THEM COMING :)

Whew, well thank you for your honesty! I kind of expected as much with my first game XD I'll take this feedback into consideration, but I'm definitely going to keep at it! If this one's a bust, I'll work to make it better! I'm sorry you didn't find it enjoyable :/

Good man, don't worry about it.
Listen to those who give you good advice, not just tell you how terrible your game is.
Keep working at it and don't forget the forum. You can get a lot of good information on the forum.

Born Under the Rain Review

Just as a note to future readers: since this review went up, some changes have been made to the game. Normal mode is completely gone, as I decided that it was merely mimicking the length and effort of hard mode while lacking most of the reasons to last that long - the battles weren't difficult enough to be satisfying for the amount of effort required. Additonally, all battles, especially bosses, are now somewhat shorter on hard mode, similar to the length they were on normal mode originally. There are several new enemies with more interesting behavior replacing some of the less unique battles, and about 20% of the game's battles were made so they can be avoided through some manner.

Although I think these kinds of long-form battles are enjoyable personally, the feeling of repetition was not good and should hopefully now be greatly diminished, and the new game modes should be significantly more enjoyable. Easy mode should appeal to people who prefer to cut down their enemies quickly once they've mastered their skills, while on hard mode every turn you spend is important and exists for a reason.

Since the DOWNLOAD date is 2/12/15 and Libertys review is date 2/24/15.....
When did you sneek in the changes ???

OK, now you can respond and make me look silly :)

Please excuse me if this isn't the place for this, or if I'm in the wrong (this is my first time ever commenting on anything)... but this is the only game I'm having this problem with!

When I try to begin the game by clicking on the application, I get the message "RPG Maker 2003 Run Time Package is not present or is not registered".

I didn't know if I was the only one having this problem with this game or if anyone else did. Or possibly if anyone knew how to fix it? I have downloaded the RTP (and uninstalled and re-downloaded twice), so I'm not sure where to go from here? I've been reading what an amazing game this is, so I'm actually really excited to try it!

Thank you for taking the time to read this!!

holy crap....I may have to actually learn how to make games... :)

We're a development community, to be accurate. How many people here actually play other people's games?

ME! I play other peoples games....cause I don't know how to make my own :(

Author: pianotm "While I don't support banning guns, I do support tighter gun control. A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. What people often skip over is the "well regulated" part. That militia thing extends to all able bodied people. The well regulated part means those able bodied people need to be competent and fall within the common understanding of sanity. I do believe that before a person may own a gun, he or she should be required to prove that s/he can be trusted with a gun. I don't think it's a lot to ask."

Hold onto your hats folks...opinion not requested but I have to say I totally agree with pianotm :)
The biggest problem that still leaves in controlling the gangs in our major cities.

No reply needed nor expected :) It's probably better that you all talk bridges.
Sure wish I knew how to get into that conversation :)

And yes, Sated. You are right....not sure how the hell I came up with lefthanded:)

Switzerland has approx. 3 guns for every citizen.
It is extremely easy for Swiss people to also get semi-auto weapons so there MUST BE more to it than just banning guns.
Can you imagine the problem the U.S. would have with that many guns per citizen?
Yes. Ammunition is greatly controlled and regulated. The right to carry a loaded weapon in public is tightly restricted. Transporting a gun is very restricted.

Not really. The article I read, actually two articles said the only ammo regulated was for the weapon they are issued by the government.
The ammo purchased for the weapons they buy on their own is not regulated.
From what I read, a big part is the wealth of that country.
The income of the people is good so most are pretty happy.
In the U.S., many think if the government does give them what they want, they should steal it :( This is not good for us.

Hopefully you will not tell me I'm whining....these are just facts I've found on the internet in the last 1/2hr.
Also, taken out of context, this is 100% awesome RMN tagline material.

sssaaayyyyyy, is that a lefthanded compliment?? Or are you makin' fun a me :(

LIBERTY, he made a double post BBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :)

Why would I delete posts? I only do that to spambots and as far as I'm aware, nobody in this thread is a spambot. I'm actually a bit insulted that you think anyone on staff would abuse that power in any way. You really like to poke at people and make mountains of molehills, don't you?

I'm also quite capable of locking threads, though I prefer not to - usually just to cool things down. Shutting down discussions is stupid unless they get too heated and people can't let go of shit. It's not something that happens every day like you're acting.

It's been done a small handful of times - twice in this thread of over 1000 pages. That's not much at all. And the second time was because not enough time had passed between the first lockage for tempers to cool, so it practically counts as only once since it was the same people pissing each other off over the same thing.

You really read a lot more into posts than what is there. The one you quoted, about DiCaprio was a joke as is obvious to most people who read it - you know, based on the whole set up of him not getting an Oscar and all. It's pretty apparent.

gees Liberty, lighten' up, stop hollern' at me :)
Of course you would not delete anyones post unless they were cussin' at and calling someone terrible things that would result in their being banned from the site anyway.
No, I don't believe you would ask someone to lock a thread for you.
That was a joke trying to say you a bunch of members sent you nasty messages so you begged another person to close a thread so you did not have to deal with all the horrible messages again.
I know you can do the job you chose to accept on this site. I have no problem with any moderator on RMN.

As for poking at people, YES, I will do that sometimes but will also use :) to let them know I am just kidding with them and not serious.
I know we've had this little talk before :)

And again YES, I knew the joke about DiCaprio was a joke. I don't follow the awards in hollywood so I did not get that part of the joke.
What I was trying to do was point out that some of those silly actors are really very, very smart and might make better politicians than the ones we have.

ON THE OTHER HAND:

I'm gonna say it again - get rid of the guns and the school shootings will disappear. I mean, seriously, it's stupid how people cling to their automatic weapons and cry about freedom to bear arms, meanwhile people are exercising their so-called freedom to bear arms in order to kill an alarming amount of people. It's just gonna keep happening and people are just gonna do the same thing 'Why are kids dying?' "You can't take our guns!"

Hey, guess what? You're not in the middle of a civil war any more, how about you put the outdated laws to rest, hm? Join the 21st Century, America. Or do something like Switzerland does instead. Because what you're currently doing (whining, wringing your hands, making excuses NOTHING) is just killing your kids more and more.

Sorry, but I'm just sick of hearing about it over and over again when the answer is pretty fucking simple and has been shown to work many, many times. I really feel sorry for any kids that go to school in America - their parents and the adults around them obviously don't give a fuck about their lives since they're choosing to keep the weapons that are used to kill them over the actual future generations. It's pathetic.

You might be wrong on that one.
Switzerland population: 8.7 million
America population: 322 million

Switzerland has approx. 3 guns for every citizen.
It is extremely easy for Swiss people to also get semi-auto weapons so there MUST BE more to it than just banning guns.
Can you imagine the problem the U.S. would have with that many guns per citizen?

The U.S. is also just north of South America where all the drug cartels are.
We have 322 million people and the cartels are flooding the U.S. with drugs and guns.
Controlling either with a country this large is very, very hard.

Hopefully you will not tell me I'm whining....these are just facts I've found on the internet in the last 1/2hr.

What are you thinking about right now?

author:alterego...lol, the last time we discussed guns the thread got locked. Same players, same arguments, same everything... Just a reminder. =P

That is one of the things I was trying to say...but few on this forum can discuss without getting angry...so Libby has to hit the "LOCK" button or get someone else to do it :)

author: Kentona..But at least he was a very good at pragmatic compromising, and would actually act with some integrity. Something politicians today should take note of.

So you agree that he was a good Pres.?? Can't tell if anyone running here is any better and some are worse :(

WAIT!!! You run this site...you're not allowed to have an opinion :)
Ya sure don't want Libby deleting your post :) hahahaha
