Well, I'm an old guy, 71(crap,there goes another year:( who loves RPGs, especially Action, Adven., ever since my older brother got me hooked on The Legend of Zelda.
Would LOVE to create a game of my own. Even purchased the ACE program, but got frustrated when I could not even make a decent town river :(
But that's ok, I still love these independent games..

KEEP THEM COMING :)

Akage Review

@thesacredlobo,
"It wasn't the number of stat stones I was complaining about, but that they don't offer that much of a stat increase to really have that much influence on play style and that you couldn't remove them from an item without losing them. As such I horded the bulk of my stones until I acquired the last weapon since I didn't want to waste any that fit my preferred method of combat."

You did not need to hoard you stat stones. There were loads of them. I kept changing stones and had several left over because I knew how to find MOST of them.
I'm not a brilliant gamer. I just enjoy playing these games. Maybe you should not have played like a strategist or needing to make a video. You should have simply relaxed and played the game for enjoyment as most players do. Also, you can only apply just so many stones to a particular piece of equipment so ya, you wasted a crap load of stones.

"And your defense of the dodging doesn't really help here since my complaint was about dodging attacks if you were fighting at melee range and not at a distance."

Of course, if you're going to mash your "A" key weapon you may very well lose. A little strategy using the sword and magic combo goes a long way. Also, if you had learned to use your items better along with the escape key, you might have enjoyed the game a little more. Why collect so many stones and potions BUT NOT USE THEM??? Silly :)

"You can still argue that my unwillingness to use MP restoring items made this game harder then it needed to be, but I'd argue the game shouldn't force me to rely on magic so much if I have nice pointy sword."

As for the above, that's your choice and fault for picking a game that requires a combo of pointy sword and magic. Even in Legend of Zelda, Link used weapons, bombs and a variety of items.
Like I said, you chose the wrong kind of game to play for your enjoyment and since you did not enjoy it, you trashed it.

Maybe you could have chosen to simply admit you picked the wrong game for your purpose and decide not to do a review. Then you would not have had me, a Zelda nut, I mean just look at my name, to contend with :)

Akage Review

Aw, wish I could.
I've talked about reviews on this site a few times.
I simply don't have the confidence to write one. :(

But you're right, I should at least try :)

It's a good thing I at least have a spellcheck system to correct that part of a review :)

Akage

This is for ANYONE who likes ABS games.
Don't read the review, it's not accurate.

I played this game because I like Zelda kind of games and one was good.
The weapon and different types of magic are enjoyable.

This might not be the greatest game of this type, but now I have to look for some like it since I enjoyed it so much. :)

Akage Review

@thesacredlobo, ya got it all WRONG.
From your review, I'd say you either did not even TRY to finish this game OR you simply do not enjoy this TYPE of game.
I love ABS games.
I played this to the end playing EVERY day till I finished it because I enjoyed it THAT much.

If you had taken your time you would have found many more STAT STONES. You simply have to run around each room and you automatically pick them up. YES, you can dodge the monsters attack, each monster has a certain way of attacking so you just need to learn how to get out of their way after firing your magic at them.
You can hide and attack. I learned that with the first boss I fought.

I also NEVER had to use the Z key. I picked up all the monster drops with the enter key. ALSO, if all monsters are in front of you, they can't hit you with their weapon or their magic until you pick up the dropped prize bag.....

Gees, sacred, if you're going to trash a game, at least learn how to play it right.

Hope I was not too harsh, but I really enjoyed this game and now others who might have tried it because they LIKE this kind of game, may pass it over.

As for story content, this kind of game does not NEED it.
The action, controls, monsters and mapping were all enjoyable.

Eternal Destiny

Sure hope so, my face is turning blue and I'm getting hungry :) hahahahhaha

Eternal Destiny

OK, I'm holding my breath till the new version is released :)

Eternal Destiny

There are already downloads for Eternal Destiny 2.

Why is this game not marked COMPLETE.
Is it or ain't it? :)
If not, when? :0

Help opening and using Zelda Classic 2.50

If you remember me, you know I love the original Zelda game.
I've downloaded the Zelda Classic 2.5 to play a game I found on RMN.
The problem is this program is not that simple to open and play a game as is the ACE, VX or other engines.
I found the following that includes 4 exe applications which is usually what I click on to load and play a game on this site.

Can anyone tell me what to click on to get a game to work. REMEMBER, I'm a software DUMMIE :)

romview-exe applicatin 1534kb
zelda-w-exe application 3389kb
zlaunch-w-exe application 3790kb
zquest-w-exe application 4250kb

OK, all software educators can apply at this time :)

[Done] The Great RMN Migration

OK everyone, get ready for a new ..........FUND DRIVE....

That was a joke, please don't fill my inbox with hate mail, I already got enough :(

And thanks for the heads up....maybe I can get caught up on the games I have not had time to play till now :)

Legend of Zelda: Flow of Time - Remastered

OK, now we are on the right page :)

I've just downloaded ZC250. Now my problem is understanding how to use it :(
I unzipped it but found TWO exe. files. Don't know which one to click on :(

Is there a manual (for dummies)???

Thank you, ANYONE :)

JUST looked at the download of Zelda Classic 2/5 again and these are the exe files that are confusing me:

romview -w-exe application 1534kb
zelda-w-exe application 3389kb
Zlaunch-w-exe application 3790kb
zquest-w-exe application 4250kb

I've tried to use this engine before and could not understand it even though Markus T who posted above said ANYONE could make their own game with this application. Boy is he ever wrong.

If you can not help me understand this application, I will understand as I'm not all that computer literate :)

Just tell me I'm a lost cause and I'll understand :)
