I think one of the main reasons why I absolutely love Dooms 4 as a genuine horrific classic is probably because it -- literally -- scared me half to death seeing all this "crazy, ass shit" going on in front of me; I couldn't believe it! At the time I first played this, I had absolutely no prior knowledge of the previous Dooms games or "Creepypasta" based games in general. So, let's just say -- I got pretty spooked. It was a complete combination of all the "screamers," "brutal, gory imagery," pretty much everything that translated into your worst nightmare seen on screen come to life... And I "loved" it!

Yes, in that sense it does work as a horror game. It is a disturbing experience and like a rollercoaster ride of nightmare, so I succeeded in what I was trying to do, hehehe.

I have heard at least five or so people have reportedly vomitted from playing the game.

I truly hope that one day you manage to either "reboot" the series or finish the "5th" installment somewhere down the road. If you do (and even make a "kickstarter" for it), I will gladly give you all my Canadian moneys. ^^

It really isn't an issue of money, I just don't feel like 5th one had enough meat to it to justify its existence. It was mostly running on old fumes and everything about the game had to be scrapped, sevral times and even then I wasn't happy about anything.

Kabukiman,
sanjo!!

Wow... MISTER BIG T sure has come a loooooonnnnnnggggg way since the old GW days of yore. I actually find it rather entertaining that a lot of the members that used to tease him over the types of games he's made has now gone to do a lot of really incredible things outside and inside the RM community. When I think of T, I think of somebody who basically tells his critics to go "F yourself and go play my games, damn it!"

Dooms 4 will always be one of my favorites. *tips his glass*

Keep on trucking, old Finnish friend. Keep on trucking. ^^

That doesn't sound like me. I've never been one to say things like that, I usually say I don't really care if you play my games or not, it's just something I did just for fun, if you have fun playing my games that's all well and good but none of them were ever that big of masterpieces to begin with, not even the really beloved ones.

You're the first person I hear who likes Dooms 4 the most that actually kind of makes me happy since making it was quite the chore and contrary to what some may think was NOT a project taken slightly. The most common reaction to the game is usually that of disgust, rather than that of liking it. Generally, the majority do name Dooms 2 as their favorite, though 3rd is my personal favorite.

Additional question for Mister Big T: How do you feel about the transition from rape and torture themed games to children's games?

I wouldn't call them children's game per say, more like suitable for all ages. They may be a bit hard for a kid to beat but generally the themes and things are totally safe for them.

Either way, it was a pretty painless transition, it's not like that's all I've done. Heck, I've been co-star in a children's story book book (Where I take a monkey lady to my cave for a tea) and Joyous Adventure was supposed to be aimed for little girls to begin with. I should get back to working on that one sometime though.

Mister Big T had some interesting games but his maps were always horrendous and never got better. But I played the first three games and I loved them. Never heard he released a part 4.

It's infamous for having reportedly made 3 people literally vomit from the ending credits alone.
