How about a LOZ event?
SMBX is easier to pick up and just throw something together and is a better kind of tool for collaborative projects. A collaborative Zelda game would be, well...
People can hardly work together to make consistent and non-retarded Mario levels. Don't trust a community at large to collaborate on something like this! (Though I would enjoy seeing what kind of aneurysms it would give brickroad)

How do I put this....? Um... I actually elaborate on the game's page. SO, yep.
Then post about this on the project's blog or your game page. If you're not going to take the effort to copy + paste some information to lay details out for potential staff members, then you're sending a strong message about your work ethic. Nobody wants to work for a boss who is lazy at their job.

@Chairmandrek, go check out rmvx.net and look over their resources, there's alot of variety lately specially from Lunarea. And you could totally do better than those..."houses"
That said...FFFFFFFFFFFFFF WIP
This is so adorable I am melting...
Can we talk sometime?

author=J-Manauthor=MagiReally? That is Cherry's next big project of sorts? The idea itself doesn't sound too bad, but the only concern I'd have in terms of having a turn based battle system is enemy movements. Would it allow for enemies to be able to act more than one per turn? Cause if that were possible, that'd be a god send.

Also, should I change the ATB Bar's and stuff? They just don't feel... rightish.
The ui still looks default. I'd try changing around more than just that. Or you can wait for cherry's turn based patch to be made public and remove ATB altogether.
IDK. You can set that up if you have all custom attacks for enemies. It might be possible, I will have to play around with turn flags and see if anything interesting happens.

author=InfectionFilesA few things IF:
So as long as a broken rule is funny, it's all good.
no wonder why people are skeptical of the admins around here.
between unfair rulings of rules and accepting shit games, we have quite the staff on our hands!
1. The staff member that accepted a flood of poor games was let go.
2. There is no favoritism, perceived or otherwise. People who continue to cause significant problems are canned. WIP has banned me in the past for being a shitheel to a few people and I have been staffing this website since late 2007.
3. It's in the nature of people to resist rules and order, except when it works in their favor. That's what we call "veritable bourgeoisie".
4. Please stop berating the staff or:

complaining and causing a ruckus will result in you being removed.
author=InfectionFilesIt's not hard. Again, it's another thing that is perceived to be difficult because some of the most vocal people here tend to be the ones who don't quite make the cut in terms of quality control. People often show up here, after showing their game on Youtube or Neoseeker which is often met with unanimous praise. When suddenly there is a contradiction between fantasy (i.e. people who have never made or attempted to make a game before) and real life (RMN staff who have been in the "know" for 10+ years), there's an uncomfortable paradigm shift that causes their entire world to crash down.
I definitely think I could do a good job at modding.
i don't see accepting games hard at all.
i usually don't have a lot of free time with work to watch everything around here, but i wouldn't mind giving a helping hand when i can
or say something when I see it
The result is a process similar to the lamenting of a death...
1. Denial and Isolation:
Angry and frustrated that this new community does not share the developer's creative vision, there's a sense of delusion that causes them to feel cut off from their unsympathetic peers.
2. Rargthghgl HULK SMASh (anger)
Unable to comprehend the state of the situation, confusion usually erodes into a state of rage where the author lashes out at those who wronged them (the staff). Deep down, they're really angry with themselves.
3. Bargaining
I'll change, I promise! Just please, don't let Sonic and the Death Emerald fade..... into darkness
This is a good stage, sometimes. The creator becomes resolved to prove themselves and admit they must make changes. Sometimes, a game comes back to the submission panel and has become a much more impressive piece of work. Other times, it's just not enough.
4. Depression
Some quit making games altogether or just leave the community in despair. Unable to be validated by a court of their peers, they pursue other interests or delve deeper into delusion with other like-minded individuals. (E.G. the ghostlight effect)
5. Acceptance (banned)
Sadly, few people accept that they are not god's gift to gaming like NeoGAF would have them believe. Those that do strive to become something greater and may one day become the world's next powerful games god......... It's a rigorous path wrought with more failures and challenges, but the heart of a champion resists the will to die quietly into the night...
People don't like when their projects are denied and interestingly lots of people just beginning to stake a claim here have a persecution complex!

author=CielOur job is to deny games that have very poor or incorrect mapping, a very basic or incomplete rpg story, or just deny entries that aren't properly formatted. Concepts that are considered stupid or childish by some people isn't part of that sorry bye
another fine job by magi
ps if i had things my way 80% of all submissions would be denied so don't try and pin this on me...
