MV vs 2003 for 16-Bit Aesthetic
The paging file/swap space exists exactly for dinosaur rigs like Kaempfer's old machine. Not everything currently loaded into memory is doing anything and when the physical ram is fully preoccupied, lower priority tasks are moved into the pagefile.
It is not nearly as fast as reading directly from ram, but is sufficient enough that manufacturers are still getting away with selling budget Win10 laptops with only 2GB of memory inside.
If people are using the GDI supported release of 2k3, it will run without issue on modern machines and require no compromises to achieve a more authentic aesthetic.

MV vs 2003 for 16-Bit Aesthetic
Evented CBS & CMS - 2k3 vs Ace
I've always thought of RPG Maker 2003 as more suited to 16 and 8 bit styled games than any software that proceeded it. The reasons for that are in minor technical/graphical details that only obsessive-compulsive purists like myself would care for.
It's a powerful step forward, but without the presence of DynRPG it would be difficult to ask others to give this software a second look.

author=SuperstrokeThere was a video link posted one or two pages back in the RPG Maker 2003 release thread which demonstrated the new picture features.
Any links for that (supposed) update? I'm curious how that spritesheet would work.
Operation Kentonfall (kentona steps down)
The gods of the old world are no longer with us. This world belongs to humans now, but humans can die.
I need your help to test a bugfix for the new official RM2k(3) (keyboard input issues when key is pressed continuously)
[RM2K3 PATCH] PicsInBattle/PicPointers (for v1.11)
I went through some growing pains trying to follow and understand how the PicPointer patch was created, but any official support for either of these features is infinitely better! Having to rely on variables witchcraft is more susceptible to human error.
And it will be backwards-compatible to PicPointerPatch!

Editing default scripts - Ethical?
author=SgtMettool
I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions on this subject for years now: whether or not its ethical to edit the default scripts in RPG Maker.
I don't know how something so wrong or woefully misinformed could become a hot-button issue.
I took this packet of ketchup from McDonalds for my french fries, but I'm on the ropes regarding the ethics of actually using it. I've heard a lot of dissenting ideas. Any help here?
addendum: Use the power of your own deductive reasoning to reach a conclusion on this matter and I think the answer you are looking for will be very clear
