[2k3] Fatal Problem: Game auto-game overs

author=Xenomic
I know for a fact though that it's SOMETHING related to one of the ones above (HP+10%-50%, MP +10%-50%, HP/MP +20/40/60%, and Equipment Abilities). Although....I think the MP+% ones can be disregarded, so that means it's one of 6 common events...

Well, that's why I asked that you disable each one of those (one by one) and test the game until you narrow it down to the one that is causing the problem. It's a lot easier to solve the problem when you contain/confine it. At this point though, it's hard to figure out the problem since it's in 1 of 6 common events. On the other hand it might be all 6 of them.

But once again, the HP+% stuff never did this before (prior to me doing all of this massive work on updating the game for the past 2 months, nothing like this happened. It only happened AFTER I finished my patch...but I can't fathom why it would all of a sudden, even with those HP+ stuff...).

It's possible, but it's also possible that the problem was happening to a lesser degree and fell under the radar. It's not really a "bug" until you identify and consider it as one.

Well, I don't see any specific problems from the screenshots you posted. However, I think it would be safe to assume that anything HP related might be causing the problem. As such, first we'll need to identify the exact cause of the problem. I think your best bet is to try disabling 1 HP related CE (Common Event) at a time and then test the battle. This way you can at least narrow down the exact CE which is causing the problem. Then if you can't see the issue, post a screenshot of that CE.

[RMVXAce] Adding a Notetag to a Character with an Event

author=MonoSpectator
The purpose of it is to make it so that so I can refer back to the player's gender for future events. If there's a way to add the script to the notepad with an event or to accomplish what I'm trying to do in all, please let me know.

I don't understand what you mean by those words. Why would you want to add the script to notepad with an event? Is there any way you can describe your problem more clearly?

[2k3] Fatal Problem: Game auto-game overs

If you really want it solved, then yeah I would definitely recommend screenshots. Thanks for answering the questions, I have a much better understanding of the problem.

It sounds like there is a lot going on. I would also suggest you look carefully at anything that relates to HP, as your event sounds like it might be killing members. That's the only way I can think of that you would get such results.

I'm not familiar with any such Parallel CE fault. I wouldn't exclude it though, as it is possible.

Some questions which might help pinpoint the problem:

Are you using any custom patches?
Did you try removing all equipment from active members in the party?
When are you getting the game over? (After a turn, when the battle starts, etc.)
Did you try adding/removing/changing party members to see if it continues doing this?

Need help with my battle system!

Lol, glad you got the stuff working. I don't know much about Battle Symphony (since I don't use it), so I'll let Trihan take it from here!

Need help with my battle system!

Is that the exact order you have the scripts in? If not can you post which order you have them. The order actually really does matter quite a bit. In general though I'm pretty sure the Party System , Core Engine, and Battle Engine should go above Battle Symphony. You can try messing around with the order to try to get it to work.

If you still can't get it, perhaps try making a simple demo with all of those scripts in place and upload it somewhere. This way I can see what exactly is causing the problem. Of course if I find that it's a compatibility problem you'll need to contact one of the authors.

Let us know how it goes.

Nice, glad you got it working! I hope I helped, at least a bit-- but you beat me to the chase. I figured it had to be something simple, since it seems like the person put a lot of work (and testing) into this.

One question remains though: I know you got the online working, but are you still having a problem with the ABS?

Hmm... yeah no worries. I appreciate the honest response. I understand, being that it's a frustrating problem, which can be...well frustrating. As such, I'll continue to try to help.

I just got my version to work, all I had to do was run the server/game .exe files as an admin. Is it possible that the people you had try it out could be having the same issue? The only reason I imagine his directions were so vague is because it's supposed to be simple. So, that leads me to believe the problem could be something simple as well. He mentions that the user should only have to touch the "Config.ini". Just because it doesn't work simply, doesn't mean it wasn't intended to-- sometimes it's a problem on the user end. So, that's the way I'm going to work this problem.

Anyway, now that I have it working, I'll test it out-- since I have several computers at my disposal. I'll have a response tomorrow.

Wait...which sideview are you trying to use now? Since you said you're getting rid of Tankentai, did you find another one-- or are you asking which one would be compatible with Yami's CTB?

If you're looking for one: I know Yami also made Battle Symphony, which I assume would be compatible with his CTB.

As for getting more than 4 members to show up, you're going to need Yanfly's Party Management script. It allows more than 4 battle members.
