Steam VX Ace Giveaway - Part 2 (Makerscore challenge) - Winner announced!
Help me give my game a new title?
Name the game after the drug name, or the pharmaceutical company producing the drug. Seems like the most fitting option.
Pengui!
Yeah, and this goes to anyone else wondering, but you're free to use whatever music you want in the game as most of it is not even my own. Enjoy! :)
Who will steal this year's Misaos? Final weekend!
author=CrazeAntilurker77I'm going to laugh if Pengui manages to lose. What a tough decision! Weird, I thought I saw lots of non-RPG games on the site this year.
...didn't Pengui come out like four years ago on GamingW anyway
No, I released a really short demo back then but the game was fully completed this last year (which is 5 times longer than the demo was).
Hate to see this situation happen when there is only one thing to vote on, and I didn't really expect to win anything for it (seems it seems like it's the least played featured game ever last time I checked, haha), but at least I hope it gets recognized by some for its original graphics and twist on the ice sliding mechanic.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
Working on a gambling card game which is proving to be a huge pain in the butt.

There are 31 cards in play.
- 2 pairs of green cards from a value of 1 up to 10.
- 10 red cards from a value of 1 to 10.
- 1 skull card.
The game is simple. Flip over a card. Receive gold equal to the card value if it is a green card and if you match it with its pair. Lose gold equal to the card value for revealing a red card. Immediately end the game if you reveal the skull.
Coding this is proving to be quite a hassle. My first obstacle was ensuring that every card receives a random value between 1 and 31 AND that no two cards share the same value. I ended up using a ton of conditional branches - ie - set card 1 to a value between 1 and 31, then set card 2 to a value between 1 and 31, check to make sure not equal to card 1, if is, re-randomize, set card 3 to a value between 1 and 31, check to make sure not equal to card 1 or 2, and so on. Thought that it would cause problems with Rm2k3 but surprisingly the code runs fast and is pretty instant. I was surprised.
Currently in the process of coding the scoring. Looks to be a bigger coding nightmare, but I shall get through it!

Requests for Deckiller to review your game
I'd appreciate a review. Kind of lost motivation so maybe a review will provide me a kick in the butt to continue working on it!

Dream Catcher
author=purplex
you do realize that Dream Catcher is a Steven King novel?
Yes. But my game has nothing in common with it other than the title. There are no aliens in my project.
How can I make Rm2k3 have turn-based battles?
[2k3] [help] Is it possible to choose items without using them?
Yes, it's possible but you have to do it with the switch type item. In the item section of the database, make sure that the item's type is set to "Switch". Under "Turn ON Switch" create a new switch that this item will trigger. Under that, there is "Activation Allowed" where you can tick off "Field" and "Battle" depending if you want the item to be usable only in the field, or only in battle, or in both.
Then you can either set up a common event that is triggered upon that switch's activation, or a map event.
Unfortunately RM2k3 isn't so flexible when it comes to items..
