Dream Catcher

Still working on it slowly but surely.

The official English 2k3 version is out!

Looks like this is 75% off Steam right now until June 22nd. For $5 I don't think you can go wrong.

Help me find / identify this old rpg maker game!

Females I remember from way back:
- Celera (I don't remember her releasing anything though. I think she was working on a project called Dark Vortex.)
- 4DSheep (I also don't recall any of her projects)
- OwlStorm (Or hers either)
- |3lue
- RPGoddess

If I had to put any money on it I'd say it was by one of the last two on the list. It wasn't something made by BlueRose was it (In the Name of the Rose)? But he's a guy.

Good luck. Hope you find it!

Thanks for your brutally honest feedback Fidchell. I'll take it all to heart, for sure! I'm glad you brought up banal dialogue and the lack of a lively world as this was what I was actually going for (which seems kind of counterintuitive right now but it does serve a future purpose.)

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I'll definitely make some adjustments.

Dream Catcher

Didn't I write some themes for this game YEARS ago? I was probably 14-15. Hopefully you didn't use them :).

Hahahaha Erave, you certainly did and I'm still using them! They're actually pretty good my friend. :)

being a guy and the issue with dripping after you pee

Serious reply incoming!

I find it helps if instead of just shaking, you take your index finger and thumb, put them on the base of your penis and squeeze, moving forward up to the glans to encourage any remaining urine to be expelled. (If you're uncircumcised I would advise pulling the foreskin back before you do this so you don't get any urine on it). Then use a square of toilet paper on the urethral opening to dry up any residue afterwards.

This is actually why I'm not a fan of urinals and will always use a stall if given an opportunity.

Great idea. I would be able to love to hear your thoughts about this. I only ever got one review and it was during a review drive over a year ago where everyone was doing reviews for the sake of reviews so it kind of got lost in the shuffle since then I think (or hope).

It's an RPG but one that is heavily story focused with no grinding whatsoever. I've always feared the gameplay would be lacking but I hoped that the characters and story would more than make up for it. Haven't had much feedback in terms of that so I'm not sure if I should continue onwards in the same way or focus more on the battle system in the second installment.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

Board Games and Video Games

Board games are largely a social experience while most video games tend to be a solitary one, so I don't think you can draw much from one medium towards the other, especially if you're designing a single player RPG.

I'm actually a board gamer first and would rather play one versus a video game if given the option. The great thing about board games is that your experience can vastly change each time you play so it doesn't get as stale quickly. Of course, this greatly depends on the design of the board game in question; you can't compare the design of Monopoly to something like Settlers of Catan, or even compare Catan to something like Netrunner, and so on. There are so many board game designs and while there are certain archetypes out there (such as the much hated roll & move design, deck builders, etc.), I'd venture to say that there are many more unique designs out there in the board gaming world than there are in the video game one. Board game designers are constantly striving for new and innovative mechanics whereas it seems like video game designs have been stuck in a rut for a long time.

Plus there's nothing greater than the tactile nature of board games, being able to physically touch and connect with the design and all its components. Sure, the graphics of board games can't compete with video games but with just a little imagination (and great mechanics that tie in well to the theme of the game) you can really immerse yourself in the experience and actually feel like you are a farmer struggling to build up your own farm in Agricola, or the leader of space faring race seeking to dominate the galaxy in Eclipse.

Pengui!

I don't know why it would be asking for that since I don't think there is even a system2 set in the game. Try saving this as system2c.png and putting it into the system2 folder and see if it works:

Might have to do with RTP maybe.

Pengui! Review

Thanks for the review!

I admit that the Bosses (especially the earlier ones) tend to be pretty difficult, but there are some tricks you can use against them since most of them rely on pattern recognition. For the second boss, for example, there is a completely safe spot you can stand in that will allow you to avoid the birds.

I maybe went a little overboard in their difficulty, because you're right, the rest of the game you can take at a leisurely pace; I just thought people would get bored eventually so I figured upping the difficulty after every 5 stages would keep their attention; but I can see how this has a negative effect on certain players!

Thanks for bringing this up to me. I'll see what I can do to reduce the raging. (Would a boss guide help perhaps?)
