Your memories of the early days of the internet
Ezboard! I remember using Pojo's forums around 2001-2002.
(TIL that Pojo still exists)
Also, Neopets. Loved that shit back in the day, haha.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Playing Pokemon Gold again for the first time in years! I don't know where my old cartridges are, so I'm just emulating it. But that's fine because I'm having a lot more fun with the game thanks to the fastforward key.
Along with dropping my starter early on, I'm also using some pokes I've never used before. Golem andFarfetch'd FEARFUL are so much fun to use ^_^

Hey, we college folks are really busy at this time! >_< I need to prep for a speech tomorrow, and next week I have another speech and four papers due.
But I pretty much said "fuck it" to my needlessly excessive quality control and I'm getting ready to put up a gamepage or two here...
(What a coincidence, this zenhabits article went live today! Just wanted to link to it in case it helps someone, haha.)

1. Progress Report (based on last week's goals)
I've been drifting back to my main project, so I pretty much lost track of those goals. But I did do these:
- Finished designing the title screen
- Completed organizing placeholders for the database
- Added enemy graphics
- Named all weapons, ammo, and armors
- Set the stats and prices to all armors
- Finished about 15 maps
2. Goals for next week
Add tints to maps and make the gamepage. I just want to make a good first impression, so that's why it's taking me so long...
3. Your likelihood of completing your submission in time
Probably 40%. The game's more about quick dungeon crawling than watching cutscenes, but I think I'll have to sacrifice pretty maps (and parallaxing only when absolutely necessary) in order to make the deadline. Speaking of deadlines, nearly all of my college stuff is due soon too! D:

Is grinding a flaw in rpgs?
If it's a turnbased game, grinding will more often than not bore me to death--fighting the same enemy groups, killing the same enemies, over and over. But if I can finish the battle quickly, then I won't mind as much.
I often end up unintentionally enjoying grinding in an action rpg, though. With those kinds of games, I'm more focused on clearing the screen instead of getting exp. I remember wandering around (lost) in Sword of Mana that I ended up pretty overleveled for the final boss, haha. But I still had fun killing things in the deserts and mountains! :)

Melody has some easy notetags that you can put in the accessory's note box to change the character's weaknesses/resistances.
