MERCYNMETAL'S PROFILE

My first RMN game, Dungeon of Monarchs, began as a volunteer project between members of the WIG (Women In Gaming) community back in 2013.

I worked as the producer of the Ethnic Face-sets Art Pack (a Kickstarter campaign for racially diverse game characters). The art pack's worldwide distribution date is January 25, 2016; and it's free for everyone, thanks to the generosity of our backers.

I currently work as a game designer at FunPlus in San Francisco. My favorite games are farming sims, dating sims, dungeon crawlers, and fantasy rpgs... especially games that combine them all, like Rune Factory 4, for example.

[Paid/Unpaid] Game Writing Jobs; [Free] Game Writing Course

How much longer will that free game writing course be available? I might want to check it out myself.

It'll probably take roughly six weeks to finish the update... so another three weeks at least. Thank you for your interest.

Game artist maybe? :)

I wish. I had to request special permission from Tyler Warren and Enterbrain to use 3-4 images. They were very kind about it.

Release Something XIII: Something Returns

Our team, Ethnic Hero Face-sets, is creating a Kickstarter campaign to provide face-sets of black and ethnic heroes/heroines. The goal is to pay the artists; but provide the rest of the world the art pack for free.

We are requesting feedback on our Kickstarter page before the campaign goes live. Here's a LINK TO OUR REQUEST on RMN. This is our submission for the Release Something event.

You can post feedback there, or on the Kickstarter preview page.

Much thanks, everyone!

Seeking Feedback for Kickstarter Page - Ethnic Hero Face-sets!

Our team is creating a Kickstarter campaign to provide face-sets of black and ethnic heroes/heroines. The goal is to pay the artists; but provide the rest of the world this art pack for free.

We could use everyone's feedback on our Kickstarter page before the campaign goes live. It's easy to do. Simply follow this LINK TO THE KICKSTARTER PREVIEW and leave feedback at the top of the page (or in this thread if you prefer).

We're also participating in the Release Something VIII event, so feedback today (Fri.) and early tomorrow will count to that end;)

Thank you!!!

Release Something XIII: Something Returns

My team and I were just talking about asking RMN folks to review our Kickstarter page for ethnic hero face-sets (the page isn't published; it's just for feedback).

Not sure if this would be appropriate for this event...? If not, we'll just post the preview link somewhere in the Forum.

[Paid - Kickstarter?] Black Characters/Face-sets!

Update!

We have our video script and rewards approved. We're not taking any more artists; the project needs to stay small;) Looking forward to sharing a preview of the Kickstarter page sometime... Thanks, everyone!

[Paid - Kickstarter?] Black Characters/Face-sets!

Update!

We have two great artists willing to make face-sets; and the more styles and races we have, the better! So if you're an interested artist - or if you find the time on your plate sometime later (i.e., unity ;) - feel free to contact me!

So excited this project's already in progress! Thanks everyone for your support! And let me know if you have questions regarding the Kickstarter.

This Twitter feed is for me!

Thank you, Trihan.

[Paid/Unpaid] Game Writing Jobs; [Free] Game Writing Course

I just started a new Twitter feed so I could post Game Writer Jobs for anyone interested in paid (or volunteer) work as a Game Writer.

If you're a writer - or you want to hire one - this Twitter feed is for you:
https://twitter.com/GameWriterJOBS

It's in conjunction with my "Writing for the Videogame Industry" class. I work as a game writer professionally, and I don't usually do anything with the job offers I can't take... I just get tired of saying I'm not available when one of my students or colleagues would take up the work. And so if this Twitter feed helps anyone, I'd be happy.

Also, I'm offering my game writing course for free. It's going through a major update, after which the price will go up. It's lifetime access, and has loads of professional templates to build a game writer's portfolio. If you're interested, here's the coupon you can share: FREE4RMN. And here's a direct link to the free course:

[Music] Dibur's Music Commissions & Royalty-Free Audio (JRPG, Retro, and more!)

author=Trihan
That's some really nice stuff; only downside really is that I'm not sure how many people on RMN can afford $70 a minute for music in their games, but I hope you get some business out of this! :)

$70 a minute is pretty affordable, in my experience. For indie companies, definitely. But a little high for RMN, sure. Perhaps dibur can release a soundtrack for the rpgmaker.net game store. I don't know what the stipulations are on that sort of thing - they have a tutorial guide, I think - but I've bought most if not all soundtracks available there.
