What about writing articles about South Vietnamese style animal husbandry and horse training?

Not that I can help you, since I'm absolutely abysmal at math, but I'm curious if you're write an article about anything else.

Some questions

I'd wondered that myself, but I DO appreciate that RM.net offers hosting for games. It absolutely killed me when all I had was a lousy tripod site that didn't allow hot linking.

A Couple Things in the Works

I'm going to cancel my Arabian themed Mario Adventure just to spite you, now.

Your Priorities

The nice thing about graphic work is that it is EXTREMELY marketable.

People tend to look at screen shots first, after all. If your game looks consistent and nice, it's going to get played more easily.

This doesn't necessarily speak for the quality for the game as a whole, since a bad game can still be gorgeous and a great game can be ugly as sin, but every attribute is important. Quality in any area tends to speak volumes.

Congratulations

I like that I was able to get my game listed without waiting months on end, so you guys have my vote.

2006 Releases - Master List

Complaining is the Internet's favorite pass time.

People from all blocks of life and from all over the world love it!

The Internet makes us one big, happy, dysfunctionally magical multi-colored international family. The kind that shows up frequently on reputable talk shows such as Jerry Springer.

I remember that Laxius Power 3 won an incredible number of contradictory awards for the 2005 running. I was quite baffled how that happened. I was under the impression that there was a select group of judges, though.

Though I don't know that they've had a chance to do something to prevent forum mobs from sliding votes that when we're doing the 2006 awards now. The whole thing has been handed to THIS site now, so whatever rules are in place are liable to be shook up anyhow.

I'll wait for WIP to post the guidelines. I really shouldn't be critical of RPGmaker.net's system for doing this before I even know what's in mind.

I'm a little concerned about the idea of having the Misaos decided by community vote.

I'm of the opinion that popular vote does not necessarily choose what is objectively best, so much as what is advertised the most effectively.

The irony being that I'm probably in the minority about that concept, and if I'm in the majority, than I could be disproving myself.

Ah well. I expect it would be a daunting thing for a panel of judges to play a year's worth of game's. Who evades the sultry siren call of Democracy these days?

I'd hoped to get Corporal Buggy Bear into this year's Misaos awards, but since I technically released it in late January (even though I completed it months prior) I suspect I'm going to have to wait a year for my chance at it. Might actually get PLAYED that way.

I'm frightened that I am unfamiliar with the grand majority of these games. I feel out of the loop. Good thing I'm not a judge.

It's probably better not to make maker points a currency anyway. Imagine how many unfinished projects, rushed reviews, unnecessary screen shots, and redundant mirror download links that might inspire.

I think DJT is referring to the title tags that mods get. Your 'Frog with Hat' bit, for instance.
